General Information

Juntendo University offers the Summer Program 2016 for international students who wish to study Japanese culture and language for a short period in Tokyo. The program provides 3 Japanese health and culture classes and 2 intermediate level language classes. Japanese health and culture classes are taught in English. Students can choose as many as classes, from one to five, according to their choice. Field trips and cultural experiences are provided to deepen students’ understanding of Japanese culture.

There are 2 classes, “Japanese 1” (beginning – intermediate) and “Japanese 2 “ (intermediate) aiming to learn beginning to intermediate Japanese language knowledge and communication competency in the four skills, speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Japanese language classes are conducted for 180 minutes weekday for two weeks.

Each students must attend more than 2/3 of the classes to receive a transcript. Juntendo University will post a certified academic transcript upon a student’ s request.

N��Class offering is subject to a sufficient number of students with similar level of Japanese language proficiency.

There are three classes, “Health Determinants in Japan” (Public Health), “Japanese Literature in Historical, Linguistic, and Cross-Cultural Perspective” (Literature), and “Contemporary Japanese Society and Culture in Anthropological Perspective” (Society). The classes are designed to provide students basic knowledge of Japanese society and literature. Japanese culture classes are conducted for 90 minutes every weekday for two weeks.
