• This cold cut scope of work was delivered at short notice following a call from the client’s site management at the end of an outage, now in the critical path.
• We cut the old valve and prepared the pipe (match bore) for the new valve to be installed.

• Fortress Energy is an approved vendor to Uniper Technologies supporting their scopes at British Steel (Scunthorpe) and Suez’ Bolton Energy from Waste sites.
• The scopes included a 4” schedule 160, P22 loop spool on the turbine plus some condensate drain lines from the blower unit.
• We are also approved for all British Steel sites in the UK
Pressure Part Fabrication Division

• Fortress Energy has ongoing works to fabricate and install pipe work on a turbine & generator installation on the steam systems, extraction systems, cooling water and oil systems to EN 13480 design code.
• We are also involved in works to replace a 7t pressure balancing bellows unit, plus 36” and 84” diameter expansion bellows.

• In 2020, Fortress Energy saw the opportunity to expand further in the UK and opened up a pressure part fabrication and welding division.
• The company has moved it’s UK base from Elm Court to The Rossmore Industrial Estate, in Ellesmere Port.
• The new pressure part division then formed in May 2020 and has been operation in field from early June.
• New clients added to the business by the pressure part fabrication division include Intergen (Rocksavage site) Uniper (Bolton EfW, Killingholme and British Steel sites), UPM (Shotton site), Biomass Infrastructure Group (Ince site), Lab Fr (Parc Adfer, Kemsley and Gloucester sites) and Eagle Burgmann.

Fabrication Division
• The new premises offers two fabrication shops, one complete with a 3.25t capacity overhead crane.
• The site includes an operational base for the Special Engineering Services team alongside the new pressure part Fabrication team.
• The secure premises are under the sole occupancy of Fortress Energy.

• The Fabrication Division has now ran a suite of new welding procedures to ASME IX 2019 plus BS EN 15614-1 : 2019.
• These procedures cover carbon steel, stainless steel, carbon to stainless dissimilar, 16Mo3, P11 and P22 grade materials.
• The procedures cover all diameters and up to 21.94mm wall thickness
• Further procedures are planned for P91 grade materials
• Fortress Energy has also ran a client specific procedure for Inconel repairs on one of their heat exchangers

Fabrication Division
• The weld processes include TIG, MMA and TIG/MMA plus MIG.
• They cover butt welds (standard vee prep), set on branches, set in branches, single and multi run fillets.
• Fillet welds are covered in TIG, MMA and MIG processes.
• We are also looking at developing an Inconel overlay procedure, specific to boiler operations

Fabrication Division
• Since June, the Fabrication team has completed onsite mechanical scopes at Intergen Rocksavage Power Station, which included some offsite valve overhauls, provided through our robust relationship with Comid Engineering Limited. We have also completed air intake housing filter changes and pressure part fabrication work.
• Scoped works have also been completed for UPM Shotton Paper Mill, onsite and in the workshop
• We recently supported a redundant turbine exhaust duct section removal (1800mm OD) from the Suez Bolton Energy from Waste site and will fabricate a replacement duct section. This scope also included the design, fabrication and NDT of a support frame, used to transfer the duct section
• We have undertaken conveyor repairs, removal of motor and gearbox on the drive end, replacing screw trunnions at the non drive end and super duplex fillet welds on the screw casings, for Lab Fr.

Fabrication Division
• Fortress Energy has achieved ISO 9001 Quality : 2015 accreditation in the UK, initial certification in March 2019 with an expiry date of 15 March 2022 and we are now working towards 14001 Environmental and 45001 Health and Safety accreditations
• We are registered with Achilles on the UVDB and T&M preferred supplier databases

• All personnel who are required to work on site hold a valid safety passport or recognised equivalent.
• All training records and expiry dates are held on a live database controlled by a Fortress Energy Manager.

Thortrium
• The Fortress Energy Group is UK privately owned and our Global Operations Director, Martin Atkinson has developed a range of remote technology software solutions through our partner, Thortrium.
• This is delivered by means of an ATEX 0 & 1 Windows 10 based tablet and has 6 apps available for Flange Management, Valve Management, Isolations, Work Pack Generator, Operational Assurance and Competence.
