“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

L: Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord, who greatly delight in his commandments. P: Their descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. L: They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and righteous. P: It is well with those who deal generously and who conduct their affairs with justice. L: For the righteous will never be moved; they will be remembered forever. P: They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor; their righteousness endures forever; their horn is exalted in honor.
