red-cedar logs from British Columbia. We’ll lunch at this five-star

resort and enjoy its idyllic location and elegant hospitality.

The afternoon takes us on a guided tour of Omega Park –

The Quebec Breakfast Club opened its doors in 1994 at the

Lionel-Groulx elementary school, located in an underprivileged

Longueuil neighbourhood. The Club's founder, Daniel Germain,

wished to offer all the children the chance to have a nutritious

breakfast before going to class.

The project had such a positive effect on the children's academic

achievement that other schools were soon knocking at the

Breakfast Club's door.

Thanks to the support of private and public partners, the

Breakfast Club expanded to 244 primary and secondary

Quebec clubs by the end of 2009.

In 2000, the Breakfast Club introduced the JeunEstime values

which aim to boost children's self-esteem.

The Breakfast Club became partner of the United Nations

World Food Program (WFP) in 2005. Daniel Germain who

split his time between his activities at the Club and the WFP,

was also in charge of the Canadian section of Walk the World

to fight hunger worldwide.

In 2007, the Quebec Breakfast Club received the Hommage

Bénévolat-Québec Award (for volunteer recognition) which

salutes non-profit organizations who have excelled in recruiting

volunteers in Quebec.

During the 2008-2009 school year, the Quebec Breakfast Club

served an amazing 2.1 MILLION breakfasts. Learn more at
