HELP! We think there is a monster coming after us! We could go Discobang’s Pad (Pg 2) where our mystery writer can help us if we find out who he is! Maybe if we go to Speedy’s Zone (Pg 5), the different Halloween treats can scare the monster off! We have to be careful in
Bhootum’s classroom (Pg 6) though, as the scariest Bangali “bhoots” are waiting for us there! You could also write to us and send in your drawing, poems etc. at [email protected]. The monster really hates that! It would very helpf...AAAAH!!

Hey friends,
Solution: Rinaldo tried to use the photo to give him an alibi, but the picture is reversed meaning that he and his moll were in Dogburg at 9:05 am giving him plenty of time to be at the scene of the crime at 3 pm. Proof: On the reversed photo Dolly’s bracelet is on the “wrong” leg.

tHE doLL storyTo us, Mim is an artist of course, in her own way. She makes beautiful cloth dolls. Her afternoons aren’t spent with tabs or laptops; neither does she get to play in a big green field. But here she is with her own handmade gorgeous little doll! Sohana Mahjabin

‘boo’nana pops• Peel a banana and cut it in half.• Dip the halves in your favourite
flavoured yoghurt and cool in refrigerator.
• After they cool, stick two chocolate chips, or two small raisins, near the top to make spooky eyes!
• Now, the next step is to just eat and enjoy!
Turn your boring sandwiches into little spiders by following the simple steps below:• Cut the bread into small circles
using a cake cutter, or the neck of a glass (make sure it is not very big).
• Spread peanut butter or jelly on one side of one circle and place another circular bread to
make a complete sandwich.• Cut a carrot into very thin and
long pieces, and stick them inside your sandwich to make it look like spider legs (you need eight carrot strips for each sandwich).
• Finally, stick two raisins on top of your sandwich to make little eyes.

Shakhchunni is a popular ghost in Bangla culture that, according to the famous stories of Thakurmar Jhuli, is mainly a woman in a saree. She wears a necklace made of bones and bangles made of shell (called “Shankha” in Bangla), and is said to live in mango or tamarind trees, and sometimes even banyan trees(according to some stories). Her only wish is to marry a man and live happily ever after, and so out of jealousy, she haunts rich married women.
In the stories of Thakurmar Jhuli, the wicked Shakhchunni takes the form of an old woman to fool a married woman who walks into the forest. Later she possessed the married woman’s body, and goes to her house
and gets her wish to be a loved wife and daughter-in-law. Soon when the mother-in-law realised that it was not her son’s wife, but a Shakhchunni in her place, she quickly called a priest to make her go away. The priest used many spells and after a long magical fight with the Shakhchunni, finally succeeded in driving the evil ghost disappear! nadia abdullah
