EDUCATION SESSIONS8:00 am - 11:45 am
Retail Panel8:00 am - 9:45 amCome get a retail perspective, what they want from suppliers and how
their businesses are changing. Michael Sansolo will moderate a panel
of retailers (chain, independent and c-store) in a discussion. Bring your
questions and join us for a dynamic session of interactive discussion.
Employment and Labor Law Session10:00 am - 10:45 amGet the latest updates on employment and labor law issues. Bring your
questions for our speaker Evan Rosen, attorney who specializes in the
labor and employment and litigation practices.
USDA Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program and Rural Development Energy Program10:00 am - 10:45 am
Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program -This program is designed to help businesses find affordable rates and
terms on business loans and USDA guarantees a bank’s loans against
loss up to 80%. This helps the bank to reduce its credit exposure, in turn
allowing them to offer more desirable rates and terms to their borrowers.
Grocery stores and convenience stores are both eligible applicants. This
program can be used to refinance a loan allowing the applicant to get
longer rates and terms, which can help cash flow in this tough economic
climate.
Rural Development Energy Program - Come and learn more
about a program that provides loans and grants to businesses to upgrade
lighting, etc. to energy efficient products, or put solar on the roof of their
business to use the power or opportunity to sell it to TVA.
Health Care Reform Overview and Update11:00 am - 11:45 amCongress passed historic health care legislation in 2010 and we are all
still trying to determine how it will affect you and the retail food industry
specifically. The focus of the program will be the latest updates and what
employers need to know to make decisions about the health care reform
bill. Bring your questions for Evan Rosen, attorney who specializes in the
labor and employment and litigation practices.
GETTING TO GREAT: MAPPING MANAGEMENT PRACTICES THAT DRIVE GREAT STORE PERFORMANCE11:00 am - 11:45 amA session for grocery, c-store managers and suppliers. Come
hear Michael Sansolo report on the basic lessons learned in the
Getting to Great study conducted by the Coke Council of which
he was a member. In the intensely competitive supermarket and
c-store environment, the findings and conclusions of this study
provide practical, actionable guidelines for chain executives, store
managers, and department managers. The lessons learned provide
a management process that will help any store - regardless of its
current performance level - to improve performance.
