    There are three main types o airport security devices: X-ray machines (usedon items placed on conveyor belts), magnetic detectors (used on peoplewalking through security checks), and magnetic wands(hand-held devices used on people or individual items). You can send yourASUS Transormer Pad through airport X-ray machines. But do not send

    your ASUS Transormer Pad through airport magnetic detectors or exposeit to magnetic wands.

    Airplane PrecautionsAsk an airline personnel i you want to use your ASUS Transormer Pad onboardan aircrat. Most airlines have restrictions or using electronic devices. Mostairlines allow electronic use only between and not during takeos and landings.

    Charging Your BatteriesI you intend to use battery power, be sure to ully charge your battery packbeore going on long trips. Remember that the power adapter charges thebattery pack as long as it is plugged into the computer and an AC power source.Be aware that it takes much longer to charge the battery pack when the ASUS

    Transormer Pad is in use.

    Fully charge the battery up to eight hours or rst-time use.

    1 Power Button

    Press and hold the Power button or one and a hal seconds to poweron your ASUS Transormer Pad.

    When the ASUS Transormer Pad is powered on, press the powerbutton to put the ASUS Transormer Pad into sleep mode or wake itup rom sleep mode.Press the Power button or hal a second to display the shutdowndialog box, and tap OK.

    Battery Charge Indicator (dual-color)

    Dim: The power charger is not plugged in the ASUS Transormer Pad.

    Green ON: The battery level is up to 100%

    Orange ON: The ASUS Transormer Pad is in battery charging mode.

    2 Built-in Microphone

    The built-in mono microphone can be used or video conerencing,voice narrations, or simple audio recordings.

    3 Volume Key

    Press this button to increase or decrease the system volume.

    Simultaneously press the Volume Down and Power buttons tocapture a screen shot.

    4 Micro HDMI Port

    Insert a micro HDMI cable into this port to connect to a high-denition multimedia interace (HDMI) device.

    5 Reset Button

    I the system becomes unresponsive, use a paper clip to press thereset button to orce the ASUS Transormer Pad to restart.

    Forcing the system to restart may result in data loss. We stronglyrecommend that you back up important data regularly.

    6 Micro SD Card Slot

    Insert a Micro SD card into this slot.

    7 SIM Card Slot (on TF300TG/ TF300TL)

    Insert a 3G SIM/LTE card into this slot.

    Use a straightened paper clip to press the opening beside theSIM card slot to eject the SIM card tray.

    8 Light Sensor

    The light sensor detects the amount o light in your environment andautomatically adjusts the brightness o the display panel or betterviewing.

    9 Built-in Front Camera

    Use the built-in camera or picture taking, video recording, video

    conerencing, and other interactive applications.

    10 Touch Screen Panel

    The touch screen panel allows you to operate your ASUS TransormerPad using touch gestures.

    11 Dock Port Insertthepoweradapterintothisporttosupplypowertoyour

    ASUS Transormer Pad and charge the internal battery pack.To prevent damage to your ASUS Transormer Pad and batterypack, always use the bundled power adapter.

    12 Headphone Output/Microphone Input Combo Jack

    The stereo combo jack (3.5mm) connects the ASUS Transormer Padsaudio out signal to amplied speakers or headphones. Using this jackautomatically disables the built-in speaker.

    The jack is also designed to connect the microphone used or voicenarrations or simple audio recordings.

    For microphone input unction, the jack best supports headsetmicrophones by ASUS.

    Installing and removing a microSDcard

    To install a microSD card:

    1. Insert the card into the microSD card slot at your ASUS Transormer Padslet side.

    2. Push the card all the way into the slot until it ts completely.

    A microSD card ts only in one orientation, and slides smoothly into theslot i inserted correctly. DO NOT orce the card into the slot.

    To remove the microSD card

    1. Tap the microSD card iconat the bottom right cornerand tap to saely

    Locking the screen orientationBy deault, your ASUS Transormer Pad screen automatically changes itsorientation rom Landscape to Portrait mode and vice-versa depending onthe way you hold your ASUS Transormer Pad.

    To disable this auto-rotate screen unction, ollow these steps:

    1. Tap on the top right corner o the Home Screen to access the tabletutilities.

    2. Tap Settings > Screen.

    3. Tap to deselect Auto-rotate screen.

    You can also enable/disable the auto-rotate screen unction rom theASUS Quick Settings. For more details, reer to the section Settings.

    TapandholdtheRecent Apps Key to capture screen images. (To setthe Recent Apps Key as the hotkey or capturing screen images, go toSettings> ASUS customized setting)

    ZoomingSpread apart or bring two ngers together to zoom in or out an image inGallery, Maps, or Places.

    Flipping

    Use one nger to ip back and orth between home screens, throughdierent images in the Gallery or pages in MyLibrary and SuperNote.

    Inputting, inserting, selecting, and copying textWhen the ASUS Transormer Pad is undocked, the panel keyboard appearswhen tapping on any text insertion bars or word processors. On Google TextSearch on the upper let corner, type in the web browser bar to search theweb and your tablet, or to launch apps.

    Tap or hold the desired text on the web page and a tool bar appears on the

    top. You can copy, share, select, nd, or search on the web.

    Ater typing in Google Text Search, tap the text you have just entered andyou will see an insertion point. To move the insertion point, drag and tap thespace you would like to insert a letter or a word.

    Double tap or hold the text to cut or copy the selected text. You can move theselection tab to expand or reduce the range o the selected text.

    Managing Apps

    App ShortcutYou can create shortcuts or your avorite apps on your ASUS Transormer PadHome Screen.

    1. Tap on the top right corner o the Home Screen to access the tabletutilities

    2. In the Apps menu, tap and hold the desired app and it will take you tothe Home Screen.

    3. Drag and place the app on your desired Home Screen page.

    App inoYou can view detailed app inormation while you are creating a shortcut or

    the app. When holding an app rom Apps menu to Home Screen, the Appino will appear on the top o the Home Screen page. Continue dragging theheld app to App ino to display its detailed inormation.

    Removing App Shortcut rom the Home ScreenYou can remove app shortcuts rom your ASUS Transormer Pad Home Screen.

    To move an app shortcut rom the Home Screen:

    1. Tap and hold an app on your Home Screen. Remove will appear on the

    top o the Home Screen page.2. Drag the app to Remove.

    App FolderCreate olders to organize your applications and shortcuts on your ASUSTransormer Pad Home Screen.

    To create an App older:1. On your Home Screen, tap and drag an app or shortcut into another app

    Task ManagerASUS widget displays a list o currently running utilities and applications andtheir usages in percentages on your ASUS Transormer Pad.

    To use the Task Manager:

    1. Tap on the top right corner o the Home Screen to access the tabletutilities.

    2. Tap Widgets to display the widgets menu.

    3. Tap and hold ASUS Task Manager. The ASUS Task Manager box willappear on the Home Screen.

    4. Tapandholdthewidgettodisplaythesizingbrackets.Pullupordownwards to show the complete list o tasks.

    5. Tap the x icons on the right o the tasks to shut down task. Tap One-clickClean to shut down all running tasks at once.

    File ManagerFile Manager allows you to view and manage all your les in the internal andremovable storage devices.

    To access the internal storage device:

    1. Tap on the top right corner o the Home Screen to access the tabletutilities.

    2. In the Apps menu, tap File Manager to go into My Storage.

    3. The Internal Storage (/sdcard/) and any connected external storagedevices (/Removable/) are displayed on the let panel. Tap on the sourceicon on the let panel to display content list. Tap to select a source andview its contents.

    To access the external storage device directly:

    1. Tap the USB or SD card icon on the bottom right corner.

    2. Tap on the older icon in the pop-up notication box.

    Play Store

    Play Store provides you with the latest applications, games, movies, ore-books that you can download and install on your Android devices such asyour ASUS Transormer Pad.

    Use your existing Google account to access the Play Store. I you dont have aGoogle account, create one.

    For details on setting up a Google account (Gmail) using your ASUSTransormer Pad, reer to the section Gmail.

    To access Play Store:

    1. Tap on the top right corner

    o the Home Screen toaccess tablet utilities.

    2. In the Apps Menu, tap onthe Play Store icon.

    3. I you have a Googleaccount, tap Existing tocontinue. Otherwise, tapNew to create your Google

    account.

    4. EnteryourEmail andPassword to Sign in i youalready have an account.

    Download the latest Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.112.60 or ICSdevices.

    5. You can now download andinstall applications rom thePlay Store.

    Some applications are ree and some might charge you through a creditcard.

    You cannot restore the deleted applications, but you can login with the

    same ID and download them again.

    Notication Panels

    Notication panels will appear under the Quick Setting panel or alerts orupdates in apps, incoming emails, and utillity status.

    1. Swipe an alert/update to the let or right to remove rom list.

    2. You can enable or disable ASUS Quick Setting to Simplied Mode in Settings> ASUS customized setting> NOTIFICATION PANEL.

    Power Management

    ASUS Battery

    This special widget shows the individual battery status o the ASUSTransormer Pad and keyboard dock by percentange and color. The morebattery power, the brighter the color.

    1. Tap the top right corner o the Home Screen to access the tablet utilities.

    2. Tap Widgets to display the widgets menu.

    3. Tap and hold ASUS Battery. The ASUS Battery box will appear on theHome Screen.

    ASUS Quick Setting and the notication panel also display the batterystatus. The battery status o the ASUS Transormer Pad and dock are shownseparately. When the battery is low, the battery icon turns rom blue to redaccompanied with an exclamation mark. There will also be a warning soundto notiy you when the battery is running low.

    Play Music

    Tap PlayMusic on the Home Screen to play your music les. This applicationautomatically collects and displays all the audio les stored in your ASUSTransormer Pad and the connected external storage devices.

    You can shue and play all audio les randomly or ip to select an album toplay.

    Use the top buttons to sort or search your audio les quickly.

    App Backup

    App Backup allows you to back up your installed apps and app data on theinternal storage and to an external storage device. App Backup can alsorestore your installed apps and app data ater updating your device to makesure your data will not be lost.

    App Backup cannot restore apps that require an account authentication.I you encounter problems, please clear data or the apps via the path:Settings> Apps and log in again.

    To use App Backup:

    1. Tap onApp Backup

    SuperNote Notebook is designed to allow you to scribble on the ASUSTransormer Pad continuously regardless o page lines. The app automaticallyadjusts the scribbled notes.

    1. Choose Scribble mode or Keyboard mode to enter your notes.2. In Scribble mode, select Color and Stroke weight to customize strokes.

    3. Tap to set a spot or the text cursor, then scribble on the tablet. Themanuscript will be automatically adjusted into the page lines.

    To dock the ASUS Transormer Pad:1. Align the ASUS Transormer Pad with the mobile docking.

    2. Firmly insert the ASUS Transormer Pad into the socket until it clicks,indicating that the ASUS Transormer Pad is securely seated on thedocking.

    3. Ensure that the latch completely moves to the right.

    Always pick up the entire device assembly rom the bottom when yourASUS Transormer Pad is attached to the mobile docking.
