Vintage Lingerie Embroideries These pieces are part of a series of hand embroidered images of mid-century home appliances done on vintage lingerie. The appliances themselves are designes to elicit ideas of speed and power by emulating thigs like rockets, trains and automobiles. The works explores the possibility that seemingly useless or absurd design qualities can potentially invoke an unintended meaning. In this case, the suburban housewife may have been inspired to imagine a faster more powerful life for herself or daughter.

The following images are from a series of quilts made for use in an educational institution. The quilts seek to explore the dichotomies of high versus vernacular art, and functional versus formal art. They question use value of a representation in terms of the viewer/user versus the realm of cultural production.
