Students with a current IEP, 504 or PSP taking K-PREP grades 3-8 that qualify for a reader accommodation

Should have used other forms of Text Reader prior to spring testing

Should not be introduced just for K-PREP testing

Students will take the same sections of the test as all other students at the same time

Minimum Requirements

Microsoft Windows XP or higher Apple OSX or higher CD Reader Each operating system must be capable of running Flash version 10 or higher Headphones for each student No dual screen usage No

Where does Text Reader take place?

Multi grades per room allowed• One teacher per grade level

With multi grades• Stagger students so they are

not sitting next to other students at same grade level

Headphones for each student at his/her workstation• Instructed not to remove them until

teacher is there to assist them

Should a student request a human reader mid-test• Student accompanied by an adult must leave the area to have a human reader complete the testing in a different environment

What is the student accustomed to using? Have they used Text Reader in the past?

After practicing with the Sample CD, is the student comfortable taking the test with Text Reader? Or is Audio better for them? Or a human reader?

Does the school have a workstation with appropriate minimum requirements to meet the need of all students who want to use Text Reader?

Order the appropriate accommodated materials through PearsonAccess for each student: Text Reader, Audio, Braille or Large Print.
