Early Voting Experiences

“Seems I could not vote this morning without completing a form that is required because my voter registration card was returned. That is not true. So. Now on my list of things to do is go to the Bexar County Elections office and find out why... there was only two of us and both were told we needed to fill out another form.

I was given B3-1-41 (10/09) form "Statement of Residence" I did not have my voter registration card, I could not show him

that my voter registration card was not returned undeliverable.” A “STATEMENT OF RESIDENCE” is for persons whose residence

address does not match voter registration address.

“Secretary Steen also reminded voters that no one will be turned away from the polls because of photo ID.“A voter without an approved form of photo ID will have the option to vote provisionally” said Secretary Steen. “A provisional voter will then have until the sixth day from Election Day to go to the county voter registrar to present an approved ID.”

“...voted yesterday and was ask to fill out a

form because 'Jr.' was not on my voter registration card. I've voted for years and no one has ever said a thing...just saying.‘”

“I voted on election day and because my

middle/maiden name was not spelled out on their form as it is on my DL, the election worker had to fill out an orange form noting the correction. I asked if I had to follow up with the Elections office and was told no, so I hope those workers knew what they were doing.”

“I voted today at the Tarrant County Sub Court

House in Arlington. They instructed me to show an picture ID. I should have refused but didn't. I had to initial by the line when I voted because my Voter ID has only my middle initial and the full middle name is on my Drivers License.”

The next opportunity to see how the new voter

ID law will affect voters is in March. Seeing as there was only minor

inconveniences, March Primaries should be uneventful. We’ll see.
