Slide4 Nursing Faculty Shortage
• According the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), a shortage of faculty is a primary obstacle to expand the nation’s nursing workforce (AACN, 2015).
• Nationwide, 68,938 qualified applicants from BSN and graduate programs were turned away in 2014 (AACN, 2015). In addition, other cited factors included clinical sites, classroom space, preceptors, and budget (AACN, 2015).
