Synopsis
Tetra Trunking Communications networkis required for Metro City PoliceTo provide more no of user/talk groups, secure communications, voice & data,GPS applications, broadcast facility.Andhra Pradesh Police is the first PoliceOrganisation to procure, installand commission Tetra Trunking networkfor Cyberabad Police Commissioneratein 800 MHz with nine base stations, covering3600 Sq. Kms area. The Tetra Trunking network of Cyberabadis supplied by EADS & SancharTelesystems Ltd., New Delhi.
Tetra Trunking network of Cyberabad PoliceCommissionerate
Advantage of Digital Trunking System over Analogue Trunking System:More reliable FlexibleVoice & Data Low noise and Secure
Disadvantages of Digital Trunking System over Analogue Trunking System:Low coverage range as compared with Analogue Trunking System. This can be overcome by more repeaters.

GSM Systems
Designed for public cellular telephony. Based on Frequency Division Multiplication Access (FDMA)Not suitable for emergency services (Call set up time ~ a few seconds). Do not maintain privacy and mutual security. Direct Mode Operation(DMO) is not possible.Traffic congestion in handling emergency and large scale events.

TETRA SystemDesigned for professional mobile radio applications. Based on Time Division Multiplication Access (TDMA) – Economy on frequency spectrum. Suitable for emergency services due to very fast call set up time <300 msec. Maintain privacy and mutual security. Provides captive communication networks with multi user, multi group environment.Direct Mode Operation(DMO) is possible, which supports voice and data transmission without a Base Station between Radio Terminals. Provides broadcast call service.

European defence and aerospace consortium EADS will install the Tetra radio network in Hyderabad to provide a high-tech communication system to the security forces. The EADS has teamed up with Sanchar Telesy stems to provide the local police a complete end-to-end GPS based digital communication solution providing best in class voice and data communication application, EADS' head of communications Theodor Benien told PTI at the ongoing Defense Expo here.Quote:"This solution will enable security forces to cover and protect the sixth largest metropolitan city of the country. The city is a modern hub for IT, and IT enabled services and biotechnology and contributing a lot for the current great economic growth of India," he said. The contract is considered as a real breakthrough for EADS in the Indian market as the country is going through major investment in infrastructure to address and compliment its economic growth. The Andhra Pradesh Police has chosen the EADS after extensive tests and demonstration to supply, implement and commission this mission critical state-of-the-art digital communication network. The new communication system will upgrade the city's police capabilities and enable better coverage and protection. Modernisation of country's police forces to secure the high-tech, financial and commercial centres is now a top priority for both Central and state governments.

Mumbai Blast on 26th November 2008More than 125 dead, 380 injured, 9 foreigners killed, 14 Cops killed (3 of them in the IPS Category) and 9 terrorist killed in the drama, which went for above 44 hrs.
In order to tackle terrorism, all the user agencies of Govt. and Private Organizations need to upgrade and integrate their communication infrastructure for secure, faster & reliable communications.
This integrated network should be capable of providing unified command and control channels for voice, data and video applications
To provide latest Communication TETRA Network in 800 MHz Band to Hyderabad Commissionerate in place of existing Radio Trunking System. Tender for providing TETRA Communication Network covering Hyderabad Commissionerate limits. The proposed TETRA Communication Network shouldbeintegrated with cyberabas tetra systen for automatic communicatioins provide autma statics in the TETRA system in proposed Hyd. and the existing Cyberabad commissioneratesshould be able to communicate with each other without manual operations/ intervention (b) Similar is the case with any two mobiles/handheld located in the two commissoinerates.(c) when a mobile/HH from one commissoinerate moves physically into the jurisdiction of second commissionerate, it should continue to be in communication with out manual operation / interventionIintegration with the existing Cyberabad TETRA Network providing Tetra applications- Voice , Data, GPS
