FSMVU PLACEMENT TEST
It consists of three parts: 1. Writing test (20 pts): Two tasks (One on pre-intermediate level and
one on upper-intermediate level)
2. Written test (60 pts): 80 multiple choice questions: 20 elementary, 20 pre-intermediate, 20 intermediate, 20 upper-intermediate (Reading, Listening, UOE and Vocabulary questions for each level)
3. Speaking test (20 pts): Questions in elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate levels
FSMEPT (FSM ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST)
Skills-based (writing, reading, listening and speaking parts)
Different types of questions (comprehension, matching, True-False, sentence completion, etc.)
Each part is 25 pts
Upper-intermediate level
*Students need to have finished the intermediate level successfully /or/ get minimum of 65 points from the Placement Test in order to take FSMEPT
FSMVU ACHIEVEMENT TEST (MID-TERM)
It consists of Writing, Reading, Listening, UOE and Vocabulary parts:
1. Writing (20 pts): A paragraph(s) or an article / essay depending
on the level 2. Reading (20 pts): Two or three sections with different question
types 3. Listening (20 pts): Three sections with different questions
types 4. UOE (20 pts): Many different tasks (40 items) 5. Vocabulary (20 pts): Three or four sections with different
question types
LEVEL ASSESSMENT TEST (FINAL) It consists of three parts (all multiple-choice): 1. Writing (20 pts): A paragraph(s) or an article/essay
depending on the level 2. Written test (65 pts):
*Reading – 3 sections, 20 pts *Listening – 3 sections, 15 pts *UOE – 3 parts (20 grammar, 5 functional language, 5 cloze test questions), 15 pts *Vocabulary – 30 questions, 15 pts
3. Speaking test (15 pts): -warm-up, -describing a photo /or/ problem-solving, -asking and answering questions

SPEAKING PROJECTS
4 writing assignments and 2 speaking projects for each module
Different types of real life tasks for speaking projects (videos, interviews, presentations, etc.)

Pop-quiz on different skills (before the achievement test, 1 per module)
Reading quiz on a pre-defined reader at the beginning of the module (1 per module)
