Relax If you forget to read a sentence of your notes, its doubtful anyone will know. If you skip forward to the next image on the projector by mistake, no ones going to run you out of town. Dont worry. Its not life or death, its just a speech. 7. 7. The Eyes Have ItPeople trust people who look them inthe eye, so look at your audiencewhen youre speaking to them. Dontlook at the floor. Throwsome jokes can be an ice breakerto make your presentation morelively. Win them over with a smileand a well-timed clever remark, ifyou can. But dont too much, toomany jokes can weaken thevalidity of a presentation. 9. 9. Keep It Short and Simple Know whats expected of you and deliver that -- and no more. Weve all been tortured by a speaker who goes on and on, caring little for the audiences interest or comfort level. Dont be one of those speakers -- always leave them wanting more.Dont force your audience to entertainthemselves. 10. 10. Fake It Til You Make It The old saying "fake it til you make it" is actually pretty good advice. Even if you have zero confidence in yourself, try acting like you do. The longer youfakeit, the more comfortable it will feel.
