3.3 Mobile Device Configuration

Process Assumptions:

1. Mobile device with GPRS/WAP Internet Access via HTTP/HTTPS 2. Root & Intermediate Certificates are available on device (Verisign Class 3 with 2011 expiry date)

See http://www.verisign.com/support/verisign-intermediate-ca/secure-site-pro-intermediate/index.html and/or http://www.petri.co.il/adding_root_certificates_to_windows_mobile_2003_ppc.htm

3. Mobile device with Internet Explorer or suitable WAP browser 4. User account & mailbox has been created on IHG Exchange server 5. Internet access via HTTP & HTTPS to webmailau.ichotelsgroup.com 6. A mobile carrier agreement that provides data services/Internet access

Note: All data access charges are the responsibility of the user. Users of OMA are STRONGLY advised to check the applicable data access rates with the carrier before accessing this service.

Minimum Software Requirements:

1. Mobile device with Windows Mobile 5.0, Pocket PC 2002/2003 or other mobile device with Internet browser. Note: Only Windows Mobile 5.0, Pocket PC 2003 & Windows Smartphone devices with Internet Explorer are supported. Other devices may or may not function and are unsupported. Testing/validation may be completed using IE 6.0 on a Windows XP workstation. See the following link for instructions on testing. http://www.petri.co.il/test_oma_in_exchange_2003.htm Note: The process/screen captures below were taken from a Windows Pocket PC 2003 device. Due to the vast number of devices capable of OMA access, it is not possible to document every device, although the basic process & user interface remains the same, regardless of the device/OS.

Definitions: OMA – Outlook Mobile Access A WAP based method to access your Exchange 2003 mailbox through a device WAP browser or similar.

Offers a simple way to access your Exchange 2003 mailbox remotely from a phone/handheld. Most recent models of mobile phones offer a WAP browser.

SSL – Secure Sockets Layer A method of encrypting internet communications to maintain privacy & security.

3.4 Appendix – IMAP Configuration – Conversion from Exchange 5.5

These instructions should ONLY be used where Outlook 2003 is not available If Outlook 2003 is available please use process 3.1 above

The preferred method of connectivity is HTTPS/RPC (see instructions 3.1) HTTPS/RPC is the only supported method of connectivity to IHG Exchange 2003 servers

Process Assumptions:

1. Windows client OS with IMAP/S Internet access via port 993 2. Root & Intermediate Certificates are installed on operating system (Verisign Class 3 with 2011 expiry date)

See http://www.verisign.com/support/verisign-intermediate-ca/secure-site-pro-intermediate/index.html 3. Outlook Express, Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000 (Note: for Outlook 2003, use above instructions 3.1 for HTTPS/RPC Access) 4. User account & mailbox has been created on IHG Exchange server

Minimum Software Requirements:

1. Outlook Express, Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000 (Note: for Outlook 2003, use above instructions 3.1 for HTTPS/RPC Access) 2. Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2000 SP4

Definitions:

IMAP – Internet Message Access Protocol Enables secure remote access to mailbox, across the Internet. Does not provide any method for accessing the GAL (address book) or for sending (SMTP) email. Therefore is a very limited option, and HTTPS/RPC should be used in place of IMAP wherever possible.

Note: No other client OS or IMAP access methods are supported or permitted to connect. Specifically, software such as fetchmail, PoPxPress are explicitly NOT AUTHORISED for use, due to the extreme load they place on Exchange servers, and their non compliant access methods. Any hotel or employee found to be attempting to connect using software other than Microsoft Outlook, will have their accounts immediately removed.
