Rapture Versus Revelation


Rapture means to be caught up or caught away

Revelation means appearing or manifestation


The rapture occurs when the church is caught up to meet Christ in the air

The revelation occurs when Christ comes to end the tribulation (by the execution of righteous judgment on the earth)


At the rapture, Christ comes to the AIR

At the revelation, Christ comes to EARTH


At the rapture, Christ comes to FOR His saints

At the revelation, Christ comes WITH His saints


No prophesy must be fulfilled in order for the rapture to take place

Many prophesies must be fulfilled before the revelation takes place


The Rapture can occur at any moment

The revelation is at least seven years away


The rapture is an event where the saved will be separated from the lost

The revelation is an event that will include the lost being separated from the saved


The rapture is a private event

The revelation is a public event


At the rapture, Christ comes for the benefit of the church

At the revelation, Christ comes for the benefit of Israel

How does this affect me?

Millennium Versus Eternal State

In the millennium, righteousness will REIGN

In eternity, righteousness will DWELL


In the millennium, the sin nature exists (in those not yet glorified).

In eternity, sins and SIN will be no more


The millennium will last 1000 years

The eternal state will have no end


In the millennium, death is the exception (people will live long)

In eternity, there will be no more death


In the millennium, the sun will exist

In eternity, there will be no more sun


In the millennium, animals will live delivered from the curse. (Lion eat straw – wolf / lamb)

In eternity, there is not the mention of animals being there


In the millennium, death is the exception (people will live long)

At the start of the millennium, all will be saved. At the end there will be a host of unsaved (among those born in the millennium)

In eternity, there will only be the saved always


In the millennium, some will be in glorified bodies, some will be in natural bodies (able to reproduce)

All saved inhabitants will be in glorified bodies, not subject to pain or death


In the millennium, Christ reigns, but there are still enemies and the enemy of death still exists

In the millennium, there will be no sickness (Isa. 33:24) unless Divinely inflicted (Zech. 14:18; Isa. 65:20)

False religion is not tolerated by the King. True worship is strictly enforced (Zech. 14:16-19)
