For Immediate Release December 13, 2017 Terri LeGrand Highlighted for NC House Candidacy WINSTON-SALEM, NC – This week, Governor Roy Cooper and the NCDP highlighted her campaign as one that they will be relying on to break the Republican super majority in the NC House. Terri LeGrand announced last month her intent to represent the people of Forsyth County and the 74th district by running for a seat in the North Carolina House of Representatives. “I am excited and honored to announce my candidacy for the North Carolina House of Representatives. As we have seen in Virginia, Georgia, and now Alabama, the people want elected representatives that care about the problems they are facing every day and are serious about working hard to find common-sense solutions. I have spent my career advocating for at-risk youth and their families and for students. I have seen families struggle to make ends meet, to manage exorbitant health-care costs, and to send their children to college. I want to bring my experience solving real-life problems to build a better North Carolina. “Politicians in Raleigh have repeatedly put partisan politics above what’s best for North Carolina. This is not what’s best for the people of Winston-Salem. Above all else, they deserve a representative who will put people before politics. I will work hard every day to put my constituents – and those without a voice – first.” LeGrand grew up in nearby Galax, Virginia. She attended law school at Wake Forest University before returning home to Galax to start a law practice. She has called Forsyth County home since 2004, when she moved here to raise her family, work and serve her community. Through her career, advocacy work and service to her community, LeGrand has shown the leadership skills, experience and integrity needed to move our state forward. She looks forward to connecting with her constituents. The Committee to Elect Terri LeGrand welcomes the support of all people interested in volunteering for the campaign, contributing to fundraising and spreading the word about the candidate through social media. Terri is running for office in district. The incumbent is Debra Conrad. More details on the campaign can be found at https://www.terrilegrand.org/.
