    Name DEFINITION COMMENTS

    Product Offering The presentation of some specified item for sale,rental, or lease to the marketplace. A product

    offering typically specifies capabilities that are onoffer to the customer (these are the customer facingservices). The tangible or intangible items requiredto deliver these capabilities are detailed within theresource specifications that are used by thecustomer facing services. The cost of a productoffering is defined in its associated price plans.There can be one or more price plans availableconcurrently for a product offering. A productoffering can be further classified as being: - Basic -Optional - Bundled - Account Level - Shared A soldinstance of a product offering is referred to as aproduct subscription.

    Non SubscriptionProduct Offering

    A kind of product offering that specifies benefits thatcan be purchased by a customer and that do nottake the form of a subscription. An example mightbe a product offering describing a handset that is forsale. Unlike other kinds of product offering, thefulfilment of an order for a non-subscription productoffering does not result in the creation of a productsubscription.

    Shared Product A product offering that delivers some kind of

    Offering capability or benefit that when sold, can be sharedacross a number of basic product subscriptions. Forexample, a product that provides closed user group

    calling capability between a numbers of subscribers.

    Account LevelProduct Offering

    A product offering that delivers some kind ofcapability or benefit that can be applied at the levelof a customer's billing account. For example, aproduct that enables electronic bills to be generatedfor a specified billing account.

    BasicProduct Offering

    A product offering whose sale is not dependentupon the sale of any other product offering. Optionalproduct offerings can be attached to the basicproduct offering. Proxifun and Proxipro areexamples of basic product offerings. Typically, thepurchase of a basic product offering is the meansby which Customers can acquire a subscription to

    the Proximus telecommunications network.BundledProduct Offering

    A type of product offering that represents a groupingof product offerings to be made available to themarket. The grouping may consist of other bundledproduct offerings and/or basic product offeringsand/or optional product offerings. Customer facingservices are not offered as part of a bundledproduct offering. They can only be offered as part ofan offering within the bundle. Specific price plansare created for a bundle. These contain other priceplans which are available for the offerings within thebundle.

    Product Offering

    A kind of product offering whose sale is dependent

    upon the sale of basic product offering. The optionalproduct offering is typically used to specify productofferings that will provide customers withenhancements to their telecommunicationssubscriptions. Product rules are used to definewhich optional products are available for whichbasic products.

    Product OfferingEligibility Rule

    A business rule that defines who may purchase agiven product offering. Rules for a Product Offeringcan specify1. which Product Offerings this Product Offering canbe combined with2. which Product Offerings this Product Offering

    cannot be combined with3. the Market Segment that can buy this product(e.g. residential, SME, Corporate)4. Whether this is a Product Offering for a giventype of Party Role (e.g. Customer, Prospect,Employee, Partner, MVNO)

    Product OfferingExclusion Rule

    A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule thatdefines which Product Offering subscriptions mustbe already held by a Customer for this ProductOffering to be purchased by them.

    Product OfferingInclusion Rule

    A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule thatdefines which Product Offering subscriptions mustnot be already held by a Customer for this Product

    Offering to be purchased by them.

    Product OfferingMarket SegmentRule

    A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule thatdefines which Market Segments are allowed to bepurchase the Product Offering. Examples includeResidential, SME, Corporate etc

    ProductSubscription

    A record of a product offering that has beenprocured by a customer, by means of an order. Aproduct subscription may have one or moreinstalled price plans, and is realized as one or moreinstalled customer facing service(s) and theirassociated installed resource(s). Each productsubscription may have a registered end user. Aproduct subscription may have one or more

    installed payment accounts (billing accounts/prepayaccounts).

    Customer FacingService

    A Customer Facing Service defines thecharacteristics and behaviour of a particular serviceas it is perceived by a customer. Customer facingservices describe capabilities that can be offered tocustomers in the form of product offerings.Configuration constraints for customer facingservices are defined in terms of customer facingservice parameters. For example, the CLIP/CLIRManagement capability of the GSM network can bespecified as a customer facing service that isdelivered through a product subscription called

    ProxiFun. The default configuration of CLIP/CLIRManagement capability (on/off) is recorded in thespecification as CFS parameter values.

    CFSDependencyRule

    The C.F.S. Dependency Rules define the technicaldependencies between Customer Facing Services.The rule can specify that if a C.F.S. is used within aProduct Offering then another C.F.S. must or mustnot be included in that Product Offering and/or anyother Product Offering that a given Customer issubscribing to.

    CFS ExclusionRule

    A type of C.F.S. Dependency Rule that defines for agiven C.F.S. which other C.F.S. it cannot becombined with either in a Product Offering

    CFS InclusionRuleA type of C.F.S. Dependency Rule that defines for agiven C.F.S. which other C.F.S. it must becombined with either in a Product Offering or in twoProduct Subscriptions

    Installed CFS An installed customer facing service defines thecharacteristics and behaviour of a particular serviceas seen by the customer and installed within thecontext of a product subscription that has beenpurchased/obtained. Installed customer facingservices are directly related to product subscriptions

    as well as to installed resources.

    Installed CFS

    Parameter

    A value for a particular CFS parameter type within aspecific installed customer facing service. The

    installed CFS parameters define the customerspecific configuration of an installed service.

    ContentSpecification

    The specification of a single individual piece ofcontent which can be a game, a ring-tone, a song, apicture, or any other information or data offered byBelgacom as part of a specific product offering.

    Brand A common identification of a portfolio of ProductOfferings through a combination of a name,identifying mark, logo, visual images, symbols,design and colours. The Brand is used to define theportfolio of Products and their associated customerexperience in a way that appeals to a particularMarket Segment and to differentiate the portfolio

    from similar products offered by competitors or BMBitself.

    Resource A general term covering all specific instances ofresources that are of interest to Belgacom.Resources typically form the core of some kind ofinventory management activity. Resources may bereserved (see resource reservations) andsubsequently installed (see installed resources).Resources have unique serial numbers or similaridentifiers.

    Logical Resource A Resource that whilst being manageable andconfigurable does not appear in a physical inventoryor tangible asset list belonging to Belgacom, a

    customer or some other third party. Examplesinclude Electronic Addresses such as MSISDNs

    PhysicalResource

    A piece of physical equipment that can appear in aphysical inventory or tangible asset list belonging toBelgacom, a customer or some other third party

    ResourceSpecification

    A specification defining the common characteristicsthat are applicable to a set of resources. Exampleresources that require specification are: MSISDNIMSI SIM Card Mobile Station Mobile Station

    Accessory etc Customer facing services may beassociated with resource specifications in order toidentify kinds of resource that might be requiredwhen they are delivered. E.g GSM Connectivity

    service requires an MSISDN and a SIM Card.Product offerings may be related to resourcespecifications in order to define the kind ofresources that they comprise. E.g. the ProximusNokia 7210i Product offering is specified ascomprising a Mobile Station plus a Mobile Station

    Accessory.

    InstalledResource

    The record of a resource that has been installedwithin a product subscription. Installed resourcesare attached to the installed customer facing

    Price Plan A pricing scheme that defines the amount, usually inmoney, asked for, when a product offering is

    bought, rented, leased, used etc. The price plan isvalid for a defined period of time. The price plan candefine the charges to be applied for:- Acquiring this specific product offering- Continued subscription to this specific productoffering- Usage of Customer Facing Services within theproduct offering- Other event based charges applicable to theproduct offering.Some price plans exist solely with the purpose ofbundling other price plans. These are available tobundled product offerings only and contain the price

    plans that apply to the offerings within the bundle.Price PlanElement

    A single element of a price plan that gives the priceto be charged/discounted/allowed for a unit ofconsumption of a product or service at a particulartime and location.

    Price PlanService UsageElement

    A single element of a price plan that gives theprice/discount or allowance, for a unit ofconsumption service at a particular time andlocation

    Price PlanRecurringelement

    A single element of a price plan that gives the priceto be charged/discounted/allowed for recurringevents for a given product such as monthly fee. Inthis case the Unit of Measure relationship (to the

    parent concept) defines the frequency of thereoccurrence of the charge.

    Price Plan NonrecurringElement

    A single element of a price plan that gives theprice/discount/allowance for a non-recurring eventsuch as a product set-up charge

    Price PlanService UsageCategory

    A category used to group Price Plan Service UsageElements by 'type of call'. Values include:International National Roaming These are used toreport the Usage on a Customer's Invoice

    A Service A facility providing a customer or end user with theuse of a product or resource in a particular manner.

    Resource Facing

    Service

    A service that interacts with a resource to support aCustomer Facing Service

    Promotion A type of Product Offering that may bundle otherProduct Offerings or offer discounts off standardPrice Plans for a limited, well defined period.

    A Party A person, organization, sub-division of anorganisation, or group of persons/organizations ofinterest to Belgacom.
