PRINCIPAL’S REPORT GRANDPARENTS DAY Our recent Grandparents’ Day was a great event with excellent performances by our talented students and engaging classroom acƟviƟes. Our assembly showcased some of our fabulous performers with presentaƟons by our school Band, Choir, Dancers and even a poetry slam by some of our Stage Three students. It was wonderful to see so many of our grandparents come out to visit our classrooms and celebrate the great work of their grandchildren. GAMES NIGHT I would like to thank our school community for their support of our Games Night last week. It was a highly enjoyable and hard fought baƩle, as family teams competed through trivia quesƟons, memory challenges and fun quizzes. Proceeds from the night were shared between Stage Three fundraising and our drive to support Emily Chesson and her family. The evening was a great success raising over $1260.00. Thanks go to our wonderful P&C and to our Stage Three staMrs Dubojski, Mr ScoƩ and our MC Mr Burke. 3D PRINTER This term, we have been very excited to have had the use of a 3D printer. On loan as part of the Department of EducaƟon’s STEM share project, Mrs Norton brought the world of 3D designing and prinƟng to our senior classes. Students were able to search designs using online databases or develop their own projects which were then printed in plasƟc with amazing results. Thanks goes to Mrs Norton for accessing this great resource and powerful learning experience for our students. STAGE THREE EXCURSION Stage Three enjoyed a great day at the Newcastle Museum, Library and Art Gallery as part of their Science and CreaƟve Arts unit of learning. Highlights included an Explosive Show at the Museum, Argumented Reality at the Art Gallery and STEM acƟviƟes at the Library. Many thanks to our staand to all our much appreciated parent helpers. HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION Yesterday many of our Year Six students enjoyed a Year Seven OrientaƟon session at the High School. They parƟcipated in scavenger hunts, ‘geƫng to know you’ acƟviƟes and taster lessons in various subjects. It is wonderful to see our students so excited for this next milestone in their educaƟon.
