Term 4 5th December 2018 Cool Bananas Show This is now free to our students as Clark Road Chapel will be paying for them. Gold coins donated will be refunded. Clark Road Chapel is incredibly supportive of Kamo Primary and we benefit so much from having them as our neighbours. As this show starts at 9am please can you have your child at school by 8.45am as the bell will ring 5 minutes earlier at 8.50am so that the roll can be called and students can walk to the show on time. The last panui of the year! Phew! I hear you say… This panui is really all about Farewell and Thank you! Firstly I would like to farewell Mrs Rosemary Hamer who departs to One Tree Point School. Rosemary has been a great team member, Teacher, Home and School Teacher member, Hockey lead teacher, Reading Recovery teacher and so much more! Mrs Hamer has moved into the Bream Bay area and working in her local area will be ideal for her. She will be missed and we wish her all the best!! As previously mentioned Mrs Elaine Soich is retiring from full time work. She too has been a very much loved and active teacher participating and supporting all she could! I have witnessed many a student tell her how wonderful they found her as a teacher! You may have noticed the bump extending from Amy Batten. Yes it is with great excitement that she will be giving Mrs Batten her first grandchild! Amy and her wonderful partner are so excited and she will be no stranger to the school once motherhood is in progress. Mrs Heape leaves as well after 28 years of service in keeping our books ticking over! She really has given incredible commitment and her lovely nature has made her such a valuable member to the team! Julie Jones a teacher aide retires as well. She has supported so many children and we will miss her too! We wish all these people well from retirement, to motherhood, to new schools and we will miss them all! However life calls and we want the best for them all!! To the teachers and support staff; you really are a great group of people and when I think of you all adjectives such as dedicated, relentless, happy, hardworking, caring, happy and outstanding are just a few to mention that flash into my mind!! I would like to make special mention to Miss Lizzie Reynolds and Miss Isa Inui who have been team teaching in room 15. We gave them a challenge and they have responded well!! A special mention to our office ladies always there for all and that Mrs Batten is a gem! Nothing is ever too much trouble and they serve us all so well! Thank you Margaret and Maureen as well. The office team are truly an exceptional team! Mr Gow keeps our school in top shape and that goes for the pool as well. His attention to detail and knowledge of the school is amazing!! To our dear Des Palamountain who works all hours you are very important to us all! To the students we are all so proud of you as you are a phenomenal group of children and we are honoured to teach and learn alongside you! To our Board of Trustees thank you for believing in the staff and school! Your support is valued and appreciated! To our community you are amazing! The best! The last shout out goes to all parent helpers who have helped out in some way at Kamo Primary School - volunteers are the most under-rated help in this country! You help to be the backbone of all we do. You make it happen for our students and without your help we could not get out the gate! Thank you!
