School Assembly Our K-6 Assembly is planned for this Friday commencing
at 9am in Mr Curtin’s room. Staff will present their Student
of the Week and Merit awards recognising the great
achievements of our students. Senior class students will be presenting an item
based on their excursion and some students will share their writing they created
for the art exhibition project. Parents and carers are most welcome to join us.
Congratulations Beck! Since the beginning of this term our school has been involved
in a merit selection process to select our new School
Administration Manager. This position became available on
Kathy’s retirement last term. It is with great pleasure that I can now announce
that Rebecca Dicinoski has been the successful candidate for the position. Beck,
who currently works in a part time position at our school and Wyrallah School,
will take up the permanent position from the beginning of next year. I know Beck
is very excited about her appointment and the opportunity to work in our school
on a full time basis.
Intensive Swimming Swimming has commenced with many eager
students and plenty of busy water activities.
We have six ability groups led by teachers and
trained swimming instructors. We also have
parents helping in and out of the pool. Thanks
to these parents for giving up their time to
support the program. All parents are asked
to ensure their child’s clothing is labelled for easy recognition.

Positive Learning BehavioursOur focus for this week in our Positive Learning Behaviour
program is “Transitions around the school”. Teachers and
students will have a close look at those behaviours which
are important when our students are moving around the
school to ensure they are safe, respectful and responsible.
As each of these weekly
lessons are completed
parents will notice various
posters on display around
our school showing the
expected behaviours. This provides a visual reminder for
our students.
Performance EveningThings are starting to heat up as we count down to our
Performance Evening in two weeks. Please find attached
to this newsletter the costumes each student will require
for their group performance. In most cases children will
just need some basic casual clothing from home for their
performance while some performance groups will be
supplemented by items that the school will purchase. We
are asking parents to send the clothing items to school
next week so they can be checked for suitability. They will
be kept at school until the dress rehearsal performance
and then sent home ready for the Performance Evening.
Staff have decided it’s probably
best to hold our dress rehearsal
on Tuesday morning of Week 9
while the children are fresh. We
will also be holding a final
rehearsal on Thursday morning (Performance Day) so we
can practice on the portable stage.
For both of these rehearsals staff
will be ferrying students in their
cars to and from the hall to
conserve their energy levels. Any parent who does not
want their child to travel to the hall in this manner are to
contact the school as a matter of urgency.
Chess and Draughts
We had some positive news from the Chess and Draughts
day held last week at Rous PS. Congratulations to all
the girls who took part and represented our school in a
friendly and sportsperson like manner.

Kya – Won 1, Drew 1, Lost 5.
Millie – Won 6, Drew 1.
