National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week  is held every year between  27 May  and  3  June  and  is  framed  by two significant dates  in Australia's history which best  symbolise  the  hopes  and  aims  for reconciliation. May 27 marks  the anniversary of the 1967 referendum  in which over 90 per cent of Australians voted  to give  the Commonwealth the  power  to make  laws  for  Aboriginal  people. June 3 marks the anniversary of the High Court's judgement in the Mabo case in 1992.  More Info:

ZONE NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP  Congratulations  to  Florence  and  Amelia  for representing  South  Sydney  at  the  Zone  Sydney  East Netball  Championships  on  Tuesday  19th  May.  The girls put  in a huge effort on the day and played with persistence and a positive attitude.       

DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY On Wednesday 20th May,  a  group of  8‐12  year old BSPS  cross  country  runners  attended  the  South Sydney  District  Cross  Country  Carnival.  All  BSPS students are to be commended on their outstanding and  impressive  efforts  on  the  day.  HUGE congratulations! to Oliver T   for coming  in 5th place, and  Finn W  for  achieving  1st  place,  becoming  the champion  runner  for  the  8/9  year  old  age  group within  our  district.  They  will  both  be  representing South Sydney at the Regional Cross Country Carnival.

The  P&C  annual  general  meeting  will  be  held  on Wednesday  27th  May  at  6pm.  At  this  meeting Executive Committee roles for 2015/6 will be voted in by members  of  the  P&C.  To  join  the  P&C,  simply attend on  the night and pay $1 membership  fee  to the Treasurer.  The P&C Executive Committee consists of President, two Vice‐Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary.  If you are  interested  in nominating or have any questions, please  contact  a  member  of  the  Executive Committee:
