What a wonderful group of students we welcomed back on Monday. They are all looking refreshed, relaxed and keen to get on with their learning. We have now reached 200 students. To assist us with our planning and organisation, I would appreciate knowing if your family is moving on June the 1 st or could be moving at some time during the remainder of the year. ANZAC Service Friday the 4 th May @ 9.30a.m. school hall For those of you who attended the village ANZAC Service I’m sure you were as proud of our Student Executive as I was. Weren’t they great! I’ve had some people ask me about my thoughts following the address of the guest speaker. I felt confident that our school students to learn about conflicts and wars and this showed in our, student speeches and their ability to reply to the quest speakers’ questions to them. It has always been a long standing tradition at Ōhaupō School and in the community to recognise ANZAC Day and the significance of it. Our school has always had an annual service and this year we extend an open invitation to all to attend our service this Friday the 4 th of May at 9.30a.m. in the school hall. Our guest speaker will be Father Chris Skinner composer and singer of the song “Sons of Gallipoli”. We are looking forward to hearing him sing this beautiful song and then the school joining in with him. Student led- conferences: I know many of you are continuing to enjoy the online facilities that are enabling us and vice versa to share our child’s learning with you. In addition, you now have an opportunity to attend an interview with your child and their hub teachers on Monday the 21 st and 28 th of May and on Wednesday the 28 th and 30 th of May. These will be teacher – led for Yrs 3-6 and student led for Yrs 7 & 8 and will be 15 minutes long. Please make sure you secure you time slot early so you will not be disappointed. Maths Whizz Thanks to all those people who have paid their child’s Math’s Whizz amount. We did ask if these could all be settled by the end of Term 1 and a reminder was sent to those people with outstanding accounts yesterday. Can these please be attended to promptly or access will need to be restricted to those who have qualified for access to Maths Whizz. What a wonderful group of students we welcomed back on Monday. They are all looking refreshed,

ANZAC Service Friday the 4th May @ 9.30a.m. school hall

For those of you who attended the village ANZAC Service I’m sure you were as proud of our Student

Winter Championship Day

Wednesday 20th June (P.P Friday 22rd June) Winter Championships is a competitive sports day open to

children Year3-4, Year5-6 and Year 7-8. Codes that are included are soccer, netball and rugby. The best players for each team are selected to compete . Consideration is given to athletes who play in school teams, athletes who play in a code for other clubs and children who would like to give a new sport a go.

Forms to participate in this event will be handed out next week.
