It was a great night, with over 70 parents and children taking part. It was a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents and to learn a bit more about their childs journey at St. Pauls. The feedback from the parents was very positive. Prep 2019 New Families – Our Information Evening for new families will be held at the school next Tuesday evening, at 7pm. We have sent flyers to most kindergartens in the area but, if you know of parents who have a child ready to start Prep in 2019, please let them know about the information night and to contact the office to let us know they are coming. Changes in Staffing Tomorrow we farewell Mrs. Linda Melia, who has worked as a Learning Support Of- ficer in the Prep classroom for almost 6 years and has, in some capacity, worked with every student at St. Pauls. Linda and her family are relocating to Tasmania early in March; we thank her for her dedication, and wish her all the best in her new venture. We also farewell Mrs. Bethany, Year 1/2 teacher, who has accepted a position at a school closer to home. Beth- any has been with us for over 5 years, working in both Prep and Year 1/2. We thank Bethany for her dedication to the students in her care, and for her work in bringing St. Pauls Patchto fruition. We wish her every success in her new school. Bethany will continue at St. Pauls until the end of Term 1. Roof Repairs – The roof repairs have been completed and the Passive area is, once again, back in use. We look forward to a winter free of flooding!! Coffee Club – Its great to see parents making use of the coffee club. Please make sure you check it out if you are at school early. A reminder that, for child Safety reasons, no one should be in the corridors before the end of the school day (unless you have been informed that it will be an indoor dismissal day). Car Park Reminders – 1. Main car park please make sure you are following required speed limits (clearly visible) and be mindful that children are also exiting at the same time. 2. Restaurant car park (front of school) If using the front car park please be extra vigilant when exiting, as there are pedestrians and bike riders using the footpath. We have contacted council asking for mirrors to be placed at the entrance to the car park to make sure that pedestrians can be seen. Our request has been allocated to traf- fic engineers, who will review the situation and contact us when a decision has been made. In the meantime, your cooperation is much appreciated. Looking forward to mak- ing the most of another nice weekend. Warmest regards, Pat

St Paul’s Primary Gardening

Group Lets green up this fantastic school! Calling out to any parents, grandparents, siblings or past and present students (anyone really) who would like to help with gardening and grounds maintenance at the school. From discussion with some parents there are some great ideas and real enthusiasm for creating a more aesthetic playground for our children to spend their time in. If you’re interested a quick 15 minute atch up is being held at 3.00pm this Friday, 16th February in the staffroom to discuss some ideas. These will be held regularly with the aim to deciding on projects, time frames, budget costs (fund raising ideas, identifying ongoing maintenance, etc.

Please come along, even if you aren’t into gardening your ideas and suggestions would still be much appre-ciated. Eliza Kennedy (Amelia Colosimo 1/2B Parent)

Pink Floyd

As I was waiting for our song to come on at the stage door, on the night, I was really scared. I was worried that I would make a mistake and everyone would be mad at me. As soon as I got out there and started singing and doing the dance moves, I had the time of my life. The way that I got to do this amazing experience was because I do this program called ‘Girls Rock!’ This program shows girls how to play rock instruments like guitar and drums. Anyway I know the person who is in charge of ‘Girls Rock!’ (Sally). Roger Waters asked her if she could pick a few girl to be on stage with him to sing ‘Another Brick in the Wall’. Sally picked me and a few other girls. That’s how I got to perform with Pink Floyd. If I could I would do it again! Amelia N Sen M

It is so hard to say goodbye. Please know always that I'll miss my St Paul's family dearly, I won't forget any of you. For the parents - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your children’s smiles and the light in their eyes everyday. It has been more than a pleasure. For the children - Don't let anyone change who you are, be all you can be, love one another and keep your family close. Ps. I have kept every drawing you've given me since 2012. Thank you for my memories. Mrs Linda.

ST PAUL’S COFFEE CLUB!

We understand the weather does not always permit parents/grandparents to wait for students outside in the playground, however the corridor is not the ideal place to wait for your child. The children are still working in the classrooms and tend to become distracted by people waiting in the corridor. Also, for privacy reasons, the area at the office is not an appropriate waiting area, and needs to be left free for office appointments only.

SO…..we have established the SAINT PAUL’S COFFEE CLUB The coffee club will be open daily from 3 pm onwards and will be located in the staffroom. All tea /coffee/milk will be provided, and you are more than welcome to bring your pre-schooler/toddler/baby to the coffee club. Mrs Cobie is in the process of organising some informative reading materials which you are welcome to browse through, and I have arranged for some more leisurely reading materials to also be available. You can access the coffee club via the door on the playground – look for the ‘Welcome” sign on the ex-ternal staffroom door (via the grass area). Ms. Donna
