Relaxed get-togetherIt was wonderful to see everyone at the Welcome Back BBQ on Tuesday night.
A BIG thank you must go to Sally Cronberger and her band of helpers for organising the BBQ, Mrs Moss for manning the voting table and the teachers for remaining at school to talk to the parents.
It was a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet their child’s class teacher and hear the plans in each of our classrooms.
Staff are always prepared to talk to you about your child’s progress at school at a mutually convenient time. If you wish to talk to your child’s teacher about a specific aspect, please call the school office and make an appointment.

Fun, Fun, Fun!Christopher Jackson, Principal
What a wonderful day we all had at the pool last week. It was great to see ALL the children get in the pool and have fun. I am amazed at the confidence they show in the water, and their preparedness to “have a go”. Well done Nemingha.Swimming is an essential skill that needs to be encouraged. It is interesting to note that many animals are born with the ability to swim, but humans must learn and practise before being able to swim with ease. Some people never learn how to swim, which often causes them to fear water. Therefore learning to swim is important for several reasons, and mastering this skill at a young age can benefit you throughout your life. Our annual swimming carnival gives every child at Nemingha the opportunity to excel in the water. The smiles on our children faces on Friday was testimony to this. Congratulations!
I know that there were a number of parents concerned about the no diving rule this year. As I explained, the decision was based on feedback from staff and parent helpers from last year’s carnival and Tamworth Regional Council’s request that there be no diving from the blocks. Mrs Sharkey will ask for feedback on this year’s carnival and staff and School Council will come up with a suitable plan for all students for 2020.Thanks to the Kootingal Pool staff. Thanks must also go to Mrs Sharkey for her organisation of the events, the countless parents who helped with time keeping and our Year 6 children who got in the pool and helped the juniors.
The sense of community is something special at Nemingha and must never go unnoticed.I wish all those students who were successful to go on further to the zone carnival the best of luck at Scully Park Pool tomorrow.
“Swimming is normal for me. I’m relaxed. I’m comfortable, and I know my surroundings. It’s my home.”

ALTERATION TO DAILY ROUTINE (BUS TRAVEL ETC)
Please do not send messages regarding alterations to your child’s afternoon travel arrangements through CLASS DOJO, as the information might not be checked in time to pass the message on to staff and children.
All notifications of changes to routine are to be advised to the school office by 3pm each day.
We Care Committee
Our P&C has run the “We Care Committee” since 2014. This committee provides a meal for school families who are going through a tough time, such as the loss of a close family member, recovering from surgery, or the birth of a baby.
Most of us have been in one of these situations, and know that this service would be very much appreciated. If you are interested in supporting our committee and being placed on a roster to help in these times of need, please contact [email protected].
We also ask that if you know of a Nemingha School family who finds themselves in these circumstances, to let us know either by emailing us, or by letting the school office know. We don’t want to hear of families missing out because we didn’t know about it.
