TERI – BCCR Climate Research School – II “Beyond Regional Climate Modelling – Best Practices and New Insights” 1 - 5 October 2012 TERI University The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi in collaboration with Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, Norway invites advanced Masters level students, PhD students and early career scientists in the field of climate sciences for a ve day residential research school on regional modeling in New Delhi. Key topics covered in the lectures - Regional climate models: an overview, key concepts and theory - Atmospheric and Oceanic sciences - Analysis of Multimodel Ensembles Using Bayesian Probability Theory - Ecosystem modelling - Data formats and visualization software used in climate research - Hands-on activity on regional climate modeling and Bayesian statistics List of faculty Prof. P.V. Participants may also arrange a letter of recommendation from head/supervisor (details in the application form). A scientific panel has been established to review all the applications and select the successful candidates based on their abstract submission and scientific motivation towards the research school. Successful participants will be informed of their selection after the completion of review. Support Travel grant will be provided for few participants from developing countries to attend the research school based on financial need and scientific merit of proposed abstract. Grantees must attend the entire research school in order to benefit from the financial support which includes travel and boarding.
