Down at the local RSL, they were having a testimonial dinner. “Tonight,” announced the master of ceremonies,

“we are gathered together to honour a man who doesn’t know the meaning of defeat or surrender...

So we have all chipped in and tonight bought him a dictionary.”

As a publicity gimmick, the popular radio DJ and his TV star bride held their wedding ceremony in the second floor

conference room above his radio station. So many fans showed up that the building collapsed. Which goes to prove the

old adage that you should never marry above your station.

JUST FOR FUN One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift. The next year, I didn’t buy her a gift. When she asked me why, I replied, “Well, you still haven’t used the gift I bought you last year!” And that’s when the fight started. I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. “I’ll have the rump steak, rare please.” He said, “Aren’t you worried about the mad cow?” He replied, “No, she can order for herself.” And that’s when the fight started. My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, “Do you know him?” “Yes”, she sighed, “he’s my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago and I hear he hasn’t been sober since.” “My God!” I said, “who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?” And that’s when the fight started.

LAST WORD. A bloke was driving down the highway when he was pulled over by the cops. “What did I do Sarge,” he yells out as the cop walks up. “Nothin, mate. You just happen to be the one-millionth driver who’s been along this road since ir’s been open and you’ve been awarded a $1,000 prize. “Bewdy, Sarge” he says. “So what do you reckon you might spend it on,” the sergeant enquires. “I reckon I might take the money and get some driving lessons so I can get my licence. “What!!!” the cop explodes. Just then the bloke’s wife leans over from the passenger seat and bellows: “Don’t take any notice of him, sarge, he’s drunk.” And the mother-in-law from the back seat, thumps the bloke on the shoulder and screams:

“See ----I told ya you’d get into trouble driving a stolen car!!!”
