Congregational Meeting & Celebration Honoring Our Volunteers and Introducing Interim Cantor Lizzie Weiss

Sunday, June 7 12:00 pm, Bess P. Maltz Center

With Living Judaism as our Congregation’s mission, a celebration of Jewish life and community is what we are all about. This year’s Congregational Meeting will honor our dedicated volunteers who make what we do possible on a daily basis, and will introduce our community to Interim Cantor Lizzie Weiss.

Come and celebrate all of our successes during a wonderful meeting with fantastic accompaniments, including food, music, volunteer recognition and a meet-and-greet for Weiss.

Om Shalom YogaFriday, May 22 8:00 pm, Bess P. Maltz Center

No seats, no books, no stress, Om Shalom Yoga celebrates Jewish prayer through the moving meditation of a Vinyasa flow yoga class, weaving Jewish text and philosophies with yogic wisdom. It is anchored by leader Zack Lodmer’s clarinet, as he plays songs, prayers, and other Jewish musical meditations throughout. You may know Zack as the clarinet player at the Roven Family Shabbat Unplugged.

Bring your yoga mat, towel, and water, and dress in comfortable exercise clothes. Om Shalom Yoga is about an hour and a half.

Farewell to

Cantor Yonah KligerSaturday, May 30 7:00 pm, Corwin Family Sanctuary

Join us for an evening of music, laughter, and tears as we celebrate Cantor Yonah Kliger’s 19 years with Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills.

To make the night extra special, we will be presenting Cantor Kliger with a book filled with amazing memories spanning almost two decades!

To RSVP for the Farewell event, and/or if you would like to include a message in Cantor Kliger's Memory Book, visit tebh.org/kliger

You can also express your appreciation for Cantor Kliger by donating a new 2015 Machzor (High Holiday Prayer Book) to Temple Emanuel in his honor. A bookplate with his name and yours will acknowledge your support for Cantor Kliger and the Temple. To donate a prayer book, or for more information, visit tebh.org/bookplate

Mishloach ManotThis is the 10th year that we have built and delivered our Mishloach Manot to our entire congregation, staff, and faculty.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers, including Members, Board Members, Clergy & Staff, who helpedmake this wonderful Purim tradition such a great success.

From the left: Elayne (Cookie) Lifshin, Andrew Dzedulionis, Mark Schwartz, Evelyn Shapiro, Phyllis Schlecter, and Leonard Shapiro.

Everyone had such a great time celebrating Israeli Independence Day in April, with a great Family Shabbat Dinner, Shabbat Spark Service, and then a wonderful oneg with Israeli dancing afterward. A big thanks to Giselle Nissenbaum and Orly Setareh for sharing some of their great Israeli dance moves with us.

Pillar members, the “Pillars” of our temple community, annually contribute an additional amount above full dues. The Pillar program is a significant source of the temple’s support and it enables us to provide important programs and services for our members.

Our Pillar members have all the benefits of full membership and also receive a Pillar Pass with priority entrance and seating for High Holy Days and complimentary parking. Pillar members are invited to special select events during the year as guests of Temple Emanuel, and have their names displayed in the foyer of the Corwin Family Sanctuary.

If you are interested in becoming a Pillar member and supporting Temple Emanuel in this special way, please call Julie Macht at 310.409.4635.
