Extend your reach, enhance your training, and improve collaboration.Verizon Telehealth Collaboration Services provide hospitals, clinics, and private offices with platforms that extend their reach of services and enable greater access to specialized care. In cooperation with Nortel, Polycom, and Tandberg, Verizon offers highly reliable managed telepresence and high definition (HD) video conferencing solutions for healthcare applications. Nortel managed services—delivered over Verizon’s highly reliable public or private IP networks—are open and interoperable with other standards-based solutions, including Polycom and Tandberg. These services enable healthcare organizations to get the most out of their new or existing video conferencing investments. Platforms and applications include:

ImmersiveTelepresenceBy employing HD video and audio in a room designed for video meetings, immersive telepresence allows users to feel like they’re in the same room. Cameras and microphones are placed for minimum intrusiveness and maximum performance, ensuring that eye contact, body language, voice inflection, and other subtle cues are preserved. The immersive telepresence rooms can accommodate from four to 28 participants at each location, making the solution ideal for administrative meetings or continued medical education.

RoomVideoconferencingAd-hoc video meetings or remote medical consultations can be held with ease using Verizon’s room video conferencing service. The solution can be placed in any existing conference room—including classrooms—with little or no room re-design. Room video conferencing provides high-resolution viewing of remote rooms, can be pedestal or wall mounted, and includes PC integration.

DesktopVideoconferencingFor less controlled meeting environments—such as doctors’ and administrators’ offices, remote clinics, and patient triage locations—Verizon’s dedicated desktop solution provides an effective and viable option. The solution requires no conference room, supports both one-to-one and one-to-many video conferences, and is easy to move and setup.

PersonalVideoconferencingVerizon’s personal video conferencing solution offers real flexibility for doctors working remotely, traveling nurses, hospice services, and community outreach programs. The solution uses a PC application connected to a web-camera, so there’s no fixed-cost commitment for desktop hardware or real estate. And its flexibility makes video conferencing possible from practically any computer connected to the hospital system.

MedicalCartVideoconferencingVerizon’s medical cart videoconferencing unit enables mobile diagnostic and patient support services—whether teletrauma or translation services—from practically anywhere on a health provider’s premises. The cart-mounted, battery-supported system also features a height-adjustable table.
