After eighteen years of struggling with

the old system, Weststrate discovered

CXAIR. "That was a huge eye-opener.

Even during the pilot we were able to see

real value and benefits over our

production data. There it was, so easy and

fast! So much valuable information, we

were immediately sold."

Weststrate is extremely pleased with the

price/quality ratio. "CXAIR cost us

significantly less than a traditional

solution, and we can be much more

self-sufficient with it."

Furthermore, the usability is very high.

"Simply by searching through the data,

we can discover valuable insights. With

CXAIR things are very easy. The old BI

platform requirement was that you

first have to say what you specifically

wanted to know, before IT came down

a few weeks later with the report.

Now we sit ourselves at the controls.”

Clearly, the traditional BI platforms did not fit in

with the dynamic business model of

Hollandsnieuwe. "We spent quite a lot of money,

but it did not work. The system was too

expensive and too cumbersome, and we needed

a fast and flexible reporting environment.”

The Challenge

As a new player in the competitive market of mobile

communications, Hollandsnieuwe had to have a technology

strategy that would set them apart from the competition. "Lean

and mean is the watchword here. We could build everything

from the ground up and choose the best solutions and services,”

says Ronald Weststrate, responsible for ICT & Operations at

Hollandsnieuwe.

Where implementation of the old system

took more than a year, CXAIR was made

operational within a week. Now,

Hollandsnieuwe is able t o gain real insight

from their data into customer behaviour.

Due to the highly scalable nature of

CXAIR, the speed of analysis has increased

dramatically. "We can be much sharper

than ever before!" says Weststrate.

Controller Yaron Sprecher uses CXAIR for

intensive performance management and

financial reports. As a major user he is also

very pleased with the self-service BI

concept of CXAIR, no longer needing the

intervention of a third party to develop

reports.

"The reports in Excel were not sufficiently

scalable. Frequently, the system fell down or

data was not included. Additionally, we had

to change a lot of things manually. Equally

annoying, we regularly had doubts about

the validity of the data. From what sources

they come from and how pure are they? If

ease of use and reliability of your reporting

environment is in jeopardy, you're nowhere. I

am pleased that we have been able to find a

solution in CXAIR."

He sees many advantages in the use of Venn

diagrams, which is one of many reporting

styles. The simple cross-sections and links

formed by Venns are very insightful. For

example, you can easily see the relationship

between different types of subscriptions and

then innovate accordingly.

With twenty CXAIR users, the tool is used by

just about everyone in the company to process

information. "We are a small group, with short

deadlines. The tool fits perfectly with our way

of working. We are only at the beginning of the

application of what is possible with CXAIR.”

CXAIR cost us significantly less

than a traditional solution, and we can

be much more self-sufficient with it.

With the problems in the past, Sprecher makes

all kinds of cross-sections of data that are

extracted by CXAIR straight from the source -

about customers, usage and finances. CXAIR

filters out what he doesn’t want to see, before

then saving the results to Excel for further

formatting.
