A TEFL writing syllabus for each proficiency level should be designed to incorporate all the skills necessary to provide a sense of moving

forward, of growing achievement and progress.

In the Elementary TEFL programme, students should aim to write simple

instructions; use story structure to write about own experience in same/similar form.

The objectives of the Intermediate level are to use longer and more complex sentences; use

paragraphs in writing to organize and sequence of the narrative.

On completion of the Advanced TEFL programme the student should be able to

divide whole texts into paragraphs, paying attention to the sequence of paragraphs and to the links between one paragraph and the

next.
