THE DANGERS OF TEEN DRIVING

Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of accident-related deaths among teenagers. In fact, around one-third of teen deaths involve vehicle accidents. Our youngest drivers are also our most inexperienced, making them more likely to make costly mistakes behind the wheel. However, by identifying risk factors and knowing how to avoid them, teen drivers can hone their skills to help make our roads safer for everyone.

PICKING THE RIGHT VEHICLE FOR YOUR TEEN

One of the biggest issues with teen driving is budget. Teens can rarely afford the newest cars with the best safety features. Still, there are a few tips to help choose the safest car possible. Young drivers should stay away from high

horsepower.  Bigger, heavier vehicles are safer.  Electronic stability control (ESC) is a must.  Vehicles should have the best safety ratings

possible.Source: IIHSHLDI
