The State Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) Grant Program, administered through the Institute of Education Sciences, aims to improve state data systems by strengthening linkages among early learning, K-12 education, higher education, and workforce data.

The U.S. Department of Education’s new ED Data Inventory is a searchable website containing descriptions about data that the Department collects as part of program and grant activities, as well as statistical data collections.
Richer information about the Department’s data makes this information more accessible and understandable to researchers, developers, and entrepreneurs.
The aim of the ED Data Inventory is to use freely available government data alongside other resources to advance new educational studies and services.

Since 2009, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Commerce Department have provided about $7 billion in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to improve or expand broadband service in more than 7,000 schools—with more than 3,300 additional schools slated for connection or upgrading.
