How technology has changed throughout the

years.

Education

Education has changed a lot before students had textbooks to read their chapters. Now they have access to eBooks or e-readers.

Before calculators had the basic numbers and symbols but now you can do everything on a calculator including graphs.

Communication

• Before we would pass notes or write letters.

• Now we sent text messages and emails.

Phones

• Before we had pay phones and house phones.

• Now we have cell phones also known as smart phones.

Computers & Laptops

When computers first came out they didn’t have many of the features you see today. When I was a little girl our computer was a big machine. To get internet we had dial up internet it would take forever for the page to upload. Thankfully now many things have changed we now have internet and Wi-Fi.

Relationships

• Even Relationships have changed before we would meet in person and have dinner. Now they’re dating websites and chat rooms. So now you could meet your soul mate in the convenience of your home.

GPS

• Getting from one place to another can be challenging I remember being a little girl and having to look at map. Now we have GPS and it has all these features you can see the street names even what restaurants are nearby. There is also the option to have the GPS give you directions.

Entertainment

• There have been so many changes with televisions when I was a little girl we had the big box TV with antennas.

• Now in the year 2014 there are flat screen TVs and even smart TVs .

Dining

In the past everyone would eat home cooked meals at home.

Now, there's fast food restaurants where you can just drive thru and grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Traveling

Traveling has changed a lot too.

Many people couldn’t afford to get a ticket for the train.

Today we have airplanes to help us get from one place to another in a few hours.

Transportation

Transportation is not the same as it was many years ago. Before people had horses or horse carriages to get from one place to another.

Today we have cars, trucks, and SUVS and its not just about having an engine. Vehicles have a lot of technology like GPS, heated seats and automatic wipers.

Laundry

Laundry has changed for the better. I know there are still some countries that have to hand wash their clothes. I cannot imagine having to do that everyday.

Now we just load up the washer select the water temperature and press start and the clothes will be clean.

To dry the clothes people would hang it out and let it air dry. But with the dryers we have today it takes less than an hour to have dry clothes.

Video Games

Before we had video games children would play outside and be content.

Today, many kids are playing with video games at a younger age.

Technology has impacted how children view “having fun.”

Music Player

Music player have changed a lot.

When I was in middle school I remember being excited because I had a CD player to listen to music.

The only thing is that I had to carry multiple CDs to listen to different types of music.

Now with iPods music is so much easier to download or purchase. You have hundreds and hundreds of music in one device.

Movie Player

Before we had VHS players. They played the big rectangle videos.

Now we have DVD players or Blu-ray players they look more like a cd. Some of the DVDs are high resolution.

They both serve the same purpose but the picture quality of the movies are better and in high definition.
