What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Q6

Producing my magazine I learnt a number of options that is available on Photoshop which hand in hand helped contribute to improving my work. I used a number of effects to change my pictures and my text to make the magazine look more professional and organised.

On my front page I clearly edited the photo to fade from the bottom upwards. This is so the top half is a clearly visible picture but the bottom is distorted. I used this technique to show that he is a rising artist who started from the bottom and has progressed through the music industry. With the top half showing no fade shows that he is not at the top yet and there is much more to come from him.

I used another effect on this, this was making the picture itself black and white. I did this to represent his personality, his emotions, that they’re blank, that he is a very serious but simple character and there is no outgoing flare characteristics that can be shown. This would be shown by his picture being bright and standing out.

In this picture the only thing I kept in colour was his guitar. I did this because his guitar is what makes him vibrant and upbeat through his music, as though it changes his character. Also his guitar is seen to be part of him, he takes it everywhere.

Here I erased an area of my magazine title to make the models face show over it, this is done to show that he is the star and the artist of this week’s edition. I do not need my title to overshadow the artist, this is because the title is obviously consistent throughout the magazines editions and therefore regular readers will already know the name of the magazine and it won’t be as important to the audience as the artist and their article.

Once again I faded my picture although this time I did it horizontally, this is so it looked as though my picture fit in to the page. Also I needed at least on page free so that I did not put any text over the picture and block out my artist. I used the colour white here as my model is sat on a white stage with a white wall behind it.

Here I simply put a quote in but separated each word individually and put them over a block of different colour, this almost highlights the quote and makes it stand out showing its importance and meaning.

Here is my picture of my artist, this is a front long-shot, and I have chosen this to show everything about this artist. This is including his costume which represents his genre and allows people to compare him to other stereotypes.

This is my blog on the app blogger, on this I regularly post my work, this is so I can keep up to date on knowing which pieces of work are completed and therefore it leaves me knowing what I need to finish. I have learnt that using this website I can keep a live update of my work, this is also available for anyone to see therefore meaning I can possibly help other people by them looking at my work and taking things from it.
