Adobe Photoshop

It took me several attempts before I felt comfortable with Photoshop. At the start, even a simple task like adding a new layer or finding the magic wand tool proved challenging. I had used image editing software in the past, but nothing as sophisticated as Photoshop. I still do not know all of the features Photoshop offers, but you do not need to in order to produce something that looks professional. If I needed any help with anything, I consulted an online guide, which there are many of. So as I progressed through the project, I became more accustomed to Photoshop.

Microsoft Word

I have used Word for as long as I have used computers. Therefore I am very comfortable with its various features. I used Word to write the bulk of any text which I would then publish onto my blog. I encountered no problems whilst processing the text. However, using this method I did encounter some problems like spacing issues and font size.

Blogger

I used my blog like many project developers do when they create a new project. They make a blog which documents the production and development of their project. On my blog, I tracked the production of my magazine, from the initial analyses of existing products to the evaluation of the finished products. I had never used Blogger before, so getting used to the basic features proved a bit daunting, but once I got the hang of it, I found that the features that it offers are very useful for such things as development blogs.

Google

I used Google to find any information I would need - especially for the initial research posts. Whenever I needed an image, I would use Google Image search, with the exception of the photographs I took for my final products. Like Microsoft Word, I have used Google for as long as I have been using computers, so I am very comfortable using its features.

Prezi

Prezi is a website where you can create and share professional quality presentations. I used Prezi to present one of my Evaluation questions. I have used Prezi in the past, so I already know and am comfortable with its basic features, but I still feel I can’t quite use it to its fullest potential.

SlideShare

SlideShare is another presentation sharing website, however, the format is slightly different. Where Prezi uses impressive camera pans and zooms in order to make the presentations look more aesthetically pleasing, SlideShare’s presentations are more like slideshows. You can create a PowerPoint and upload it to SlideShare, and then imbed it onto your blog, which is exactly what I did. Because of how simple it is to use, I am very comfortable with using it.
