Technologies used

At the start of the process we decided that we want to use the best quality applications and software so that it is the best it can be. We used:• Google docs• Celtex• Final Cut Express• Blogger• Excel• DV cameras• Voice Recorder• YouTube• Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter

Pre-ProductionBefore making the film we used the internet to research similar films and look into what aspects are involved in a horror film. When we found useful information we made a post on blogger so the information was there when we needed it in the future. Blogger is a simple way to present our information in a way that looks presentable. We used YouTube to look at trailers of the similar films. Google Docs was used when we needed to create a questionnaire because it is easy to use and it is easy for people to access. Celtex is a form of media software that helps create a script. We used it because it creates the script in a way that looks professional.

ProductionDuring the making of the film we used a DV camera because it is a quality camera and we wanted our film to be the best quality it can be. I think we were successful with the camera because we haven’t had any experience with this kind of camera. To record our voice mails we used a voice recorder and this was also a new technology that we haven’t used but it was easy enough to use and I think that I would use this in the future. To edit our film, after we had finished filming, we used final cut express and it is software that we have used before so we used it fluently. I think Final Cut Express was the easiest software to use because there are simple tools that help the editing process simple and easy.

Post-productionAfter finishing our film we had to use Google Docs again and create a questionnaire for people to fill in so we got some feedback. We also uploaded the video onto YouTube. This then gave us the chance to share it on other social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.

Blogger

I think Blogger was the most successful thing we used because the blog is easy to make and it is accessible for everyone in the group to use. The blog is almost like a diary showing different stages of our production and it is a way to look at what everyone else in the group has been doing. It is a way to present all completed work in one place which is a great aspect when coming to complete the production process.
