THE POWER TO MOVE MATERIALS

RH 1800 - W – RECEPTION HOPPER

The RH 1800 – W Bulk Reception Hopper is designed to accept bulk material from Trucks/Bulkers. Telestacks

Reception Hopper Range is designed to be loaded directly from trucks and can receive up to 20m3 payload. The

machine can be loaded via bottom discharge trucks with clam shell openings. The hopper can also be fed by Front

End Loaders with a bucket volume of up to 8m3 pay load. When Loading with Front End Loader the hopper sides

are hydraulically raised and fixed in a vertical position. The machine can feed auxiliary equipment, reclaim on to

other conveyors, directly load ships, trucks, rail wagons etc. Since the Reception Feeder is wheel mounted the unit

has excellent mobility on site and will eliminate double handling of material, which ultimately reduces overall costs

for operator.

Our solutions offer the most efficient method of

transferring bulk material from trucks, rail wagons, wheel

loaders or discharging grab cranes to auxiliary

equipment in a range of applications and industries. The

range offers greater flexibility and mobility then fixed

infrastructures while maintaining performance and

minimising any civil requirements.

RH – TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Drive over Truck Unloading

Mobile reclaim hopper feeding overland conveyor / stacker.

Rail wagon loading.

Feeding other conveyors to stack or barge / ship load material

Directly from wheel loaders, grabs and excavators

Direct loading from tipping road trucks, walking floor trailers etc.

Used in Port stockyards, primarily to feed ship-loading equipment

Can be used to load small vessels directly

Ship-unloading, directly from vessel cranes and mobile harbour equipment

Loading vessels and barges, directly from wheel loaders or grab cranes

Feeding directly into other Telestack equipment

Feeding fixed equipment

Reclaiming and discharging onto overland conveyor systems

Mobile bulk reception hopper, feeding onto Stacker/Re-claimer belt

RH – WHY USE MOBILE?

The use of mobile truck unloading systems is ever

expanding globally. The innovative nature of the

Telestack range means operators have the

ultimate flexible solution for handling bulk

material. The Telestack range offers many benefits

to your operation including:

Increased mobility increases flexibility

when handling your bulk material

No civil construction or planning

permissions required

Lower CapEx investment when compared

to fixed infrastructure & mobile harbour

cranes

Environmental considerations – integrated

dust extraction & containment systems

Ideal for muliti–cargo berths when

handling dry bulk/containers/break bulk

Perfect investment for stevedoring

companies ensuring lower costs per

tonne

Multi-functional equipment – same units

for ship-loading/ship-unloading, stacking

& reclaiming

4 THE POWER TO MOVE MATERIALS

TITAN – THROUGHPUT EXPLAINED

Cycle Timing

Cycle timing will define the throughput of any Titan feeder. The throughput of your system will be calculated based

on: The total payload of the discharging truck and the total cycle time needed to discharge the load.

This calculation will then give the approximate total tonnes per hour through the system. A sample cycle time is

displayed below:

1. The first truck will line up and approach the ramps of the machine.

2. The truck will drive over the ramps and will come to a stop leaving the tipping gate directly inline with the

stopping position.

3. The back ramp door is then raised to create a hopper area for the truck to discharge. The truck body will

raise 30-70% and discharge the initial surge into the reception hopper. As this initial surge begins to clear

the body is then raised 100% discharging the entirety of the load into the hopper.

4. The truck body will then lower 100% depart for the hopper.

5. The second ramp door will then raise to clear access material into the hopper.

6. When the material has cleared the hopper, the doors will then lower. As the first truck departs the second

truck pulls up to start the cycle over again.

Example Throughput Calculation

Total Truck Payload – 30 Tonnes

Total Cycle Time – 180 Seconds (3 min)

180 Seconds = 20 Trucks per Hour

Total – 30 Tonnes x 20 Trucks per Hour

= 600 TPH (Based on 100% Efficiency)

Factors affecting Throughput

1. Material Density

2. Truck Capacity

3. Truck Specification

4. Ramp Height/Angle

5. Material Flow Characteristics

6. Secondary System Requirements

7. Traffic Management

In all cases there should be consultation with

the factory to confirm throughput.

THROUGHPUT - EXPLAINED

Quoted throughput is based on a

running angle of 18 deg.

Telestack throughputs are primarily based on a typical running angle of 180

. Depending on selected angle of operation throughput

will vary.

Increasing working angle above 18 deg will

decrease throughput

Reducing working angle below 18

deg will slightly increase throughput.

22o

18o

14o

Feed method, material characteristics and environmental conditions can affect throughput, overall performance and maximum working angle.
