Wells Remote Monitor
Remote well monitoring is the ability to collect data obtained from or near the wellbore without
human physical access or intervention to the well with low cost system compared with existing
solutions. The primary objectives of well monitoring is to provide the operator with necessary
data including and not limited to the followings:
Enable production optimization Minimize well shutdown time Improve ultimate recovery Diagnose well integrity
Remote monitoring can be coupled with remote flow control applications in intelligent wells,
or it can be run as a standalone system. Sensor systems may be electronic or optical based.

Pressure. Temperature. Flowrate.

On the fly Water Drainage System “OWDS” Handling of Produced water especially in mature field represents a very challenging issue.
Two main points are the most challenging, which are as follows:
Tank settling Trucking
Using a systematic timing (fixed intervals) of tank settling consumes a significant volume of
the total storage tank capacity which could be occupied by a well separated water, and this is
because a retention time (prior to manual drainage) is usually calculated in the worst case
scenario (longest separation time) and this is to make sure that while manual drainage, the
operator might not be able to see & judge the PPM content of oil in the drained water.
On the other hand, trucking of crude oil with any percentage of water cut form producing wells
to the nearest EPF / CPF will increase the trucking cost of NET oil by the same ration of the
water cut being hauled.

Due to above mentioned reasons, TARGET has introduced to the market an innovative
solution OWDS (On the fly Water Drainage System) which could be applied to a single tank
(adjacent to remote well) or to a gathering station which can handle multiple wells
(Early Production Facility).
On its simplest configuration, the system can be as simple as a water interface detector
(which can, NOT only detect separated water within the FWKO Tank, but also a high quality
water with a minimum traces of oil) hence, an automated valve (drain valve) will start draining
water until a certain threshold of oil traces is detected by the interface sensor which will
consequently shuts off the valve (to avoid low quality drained water).
This system is a 100% customizable, and could be tailored to accommodate any brown field.
Also, this system can be as simple as a field panel which controls the Drainage sequence of
water of a single or multiple tanks (knock-out / treating) to a complete automated system
(SCADA) which can monitor and control a full scale tank battery, EPF and CPF.
