Objective

Technical Paper Competition

• To encourage fellow Project / Program / Portfolio managers to share

their experiences, best practices and lessons learned in the field of

Project Management

• It would encourage fellow professionals to share their views and

suggestions in applying Project Management best practices in various

scenarios

• The best papers selected through the list of submitted papers would be

included in the souvenir (soft copy), that would circulated to the

attendees of Project Management Regional Conference, Pune

• The topics for the competition are in line with the theme of the

Guidelines to write a Technical Paper

Technical Paper Competition

Editorial Guidelines: • Manuscripts must be submitted in English.

• Accepted manuscripts are subject to editorial changes.

• Authors must use Arial font and a font size of 10

• The papers should not exceed 10 pages (exclusive of cover sheet)

• Authors must submit articles in electronic format, as a Microsoft® Word document

(Suggest you use latest version of Microsoft Word from office 2007)

Plagiarism • A certificate of clearance from the authors will be required

Copyright • The copyright of the submitted papers would reside with PMI India

Length • The length of submissions should not exceed 3,500 words or 12 pages (inclusive of

cover table of contents etc.)

Paper review process

Technical Paper Competition

• We will follow double peer blind referral process for reviewing the papers

• Once a paper is received, the editorial committee decides the reviewer

• Reviewers are selected on the basis of their knowledge and interest in the topic to be reviewed

• The name of the author will not be disclosed to the reviewers

• The paper is returned to the editors with reviewers' comments attached

• Reviewers may recommend either major or minor changes before accepting the paper for publication/presentation. This may involve changing the length, clarifying expression, improving structure, changing some content or improving focus.

• Reviewers follow guidelines set by the editorial committee

• In case, the opinions of reviewers differ for a paper, a third opinion is sought and editorial committee’s decision is final

• When a paper is returned after revision, it will be reviewed again

• Once your paper is accepted for publication, it will be laid out, edited and proof read

• Does the title justify what is given in the paper?

• Has the paper been organized or structured properly?

• Has the idea of the paper been communicated clearly?

• Benefits and outcomes have been clearly spelt

• Has the scope of the paper clearly defined and does the content of the paper

stick to it?
