Zapr Media Labs is a media-tech organisation operating at the intersection of mobile advertising, digital signal processing and data analytics. We’re seeking to better understand the media consumption preferences of billions of individuals and build a bridge between the offline and online worlds, providing real cross-device audience engagement capabilities to brands and agencies. We’ve developed a proprietary audio content recognition platform that analyses the television viewership of 600+ TV channels and profiles millions of users on their media consumption.
Deployed across millions of smartphones, Zapr has rapidly grown into one of the world’s largest media consumption repositories and audience platforms, ushering in greater transparency and efficiency into media planning, media analytics and audience engagement. We're venture funded and are backed by global media conglomerate - 21st Century Fox & Star India, as well as Flipkart and Saavn, and VC funds and angel investors from Singapore, Europe, US and India.
Located in Bangalore, we’re currently one of the industry’s leading research facilities in ACR/media detection technologies, and we’re building some exciting technology platforms - across data analytics and ad-tech space at massive scale - that can leverage our media consumption data and enable content owners and brands to identify, connect and engage with their target audiences across the offline (TV) and online (Mobile, Apps, Social) universe.
Additionally, we’re also expanding beyond audio into the exciting domains of image and video recognition.

Description:Zapr Platform team is responsible for managing, enhancing and scaling the core media detection platform of Zapr. Technical Lead in Platform team is responsible for leading a small team of highly motivated developers and senior developers and will be the sole point of contact of this team. This person would be responsible for execution of multiple projects at any point in time, while contributing individually as well in some of them and mentoring other team members.
Background:● 6+ years of experience working in complex and large scale
systems.● Candidate in their past experience must have work on
designing and developing systems from scratch.● Candidate should be comfortable working with massive
volumes of data.● Candidate must have at least 1 – 2 years of experience leading
and mentoring a team of engineers.● Candidate must have proficiency in writing code in extensible
and robust manner.● An ideal candidate would possess quick prototyping abilities
to validate a solution.● Ability to see challenges as big opportunity to learn and
improve things for better.

● Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, shell scripting etc.
● Good understanding of cloud computing platforms more specifically AWS and its services.
● Experience in building and deploying microservices using containers.
● Comfortable in technologies such as Kafka, Aerospike, MySQL, Druid, MongoDB, beanstalkd etc.
● Comfortable with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Samza, Hive, Presto etc.
● Experience in serverless architecture is an added advantage.● Performance benchmarking and troubleshooting skills using
various monitoring and profiling tools.● Good debugging capabilities to resolve issues faster● Comfortable managing multiple projects using tools like Jira
