All parts, bolts and rivets which may be distorted due to over-loading should also be checked. Grips should operate smoothly. Spring-loaded grips should lock open with the notch (where available) or with the loop handle in “down” position and should close automatically when not in this locked position. Parallel jaw grips may be tested by opening and closing the jaws by hand, exercising caution. Repair or replace your wire grip? If the any part of the grip show misalignment and/or damage, it should be removed from service and tagged in accordance with your company guidelines. These can be returned to TEN for further inspection and repaired or replaced. Structural wear or damage can’t be safely repaired. Grips that are bent, misaligned, or otherwise distorted should be discarded and replaced. Contact TEN for any service, repair or replacement requirements. Cleaning & Maintenance 1. Clean the grip jaws Depending on the jaw type, use emery cloth or a clean wire brush to periodically clean the jaw surface of grip. (Note: Grip jaws should be wiped clean of all grease before use.) Be sure to clean grip jaws before and after each use. 2. Clean all working parts Use a high quality degreaser to clean all joints and moving parts, then apply an appropriate lubricant. 3. Check all parts Take extra care when checking for distortion or misalignment. 4. DO NOT repair grips If there is ever any question about the safe condition of any grip, contact TEN.
