Simple and intuitive user guidanceQuickly find information in the new structure tree Tebis users organize their activities in a structure tree. It is subdivided in a CAD and CAM area. The CAD node shows the precise design history of the part. It can be traced at any time. The user can access the respective design status of the part and can quickly and easily modify individual objects using parametric/associative methods. The CAM node in the structure tree contains the Job Manager which provides all manufacturing-related functions. NC machining operations and NC sequences are displayed together with their respective input data.
The new smart Job Manager displays the complete manufacturing process The Job Manager reflects the complete manufacturing process for the part. CAM programmers use it to create and manage all NC programs in all tech-nologies required for manufacturing – from milling to turning and hardening. It is always available and can be easily checked and modified. Setups are defined in the Job Manager, including part setups on the virtual machine. By using their own process libraries, users can create safe and efficient NC programs.
Automation and standardization of processesLarge potential savings can be found in single-part manufacturing through standardized and stored processes. This requires close integrating of CAD/CAM and MES technology. ProLeiS and Tebis 4.1 enable automated planning, control and implementation of complex manufacturing projects by splitting up entire products and individual parts into proven work sequences. The resulting logistics of purchased parts, blanks and machine components is included along with the planned utilization of the machine pool and the time-optimized work assign-ments to manufacturing designers, NC programmers and machine operators.
Tebis 4.1Tebis 4.1 is a complete parametric-associative CAD/CAM system for seamless and highly automated design, manufacturing preparation and CAM program-ming in a single system. All CAD and CAM processes can be directly connected to the ProLeiS MES software, forming a solid platform for automated manufac-turing processes.
The new user interface, which has been improved in close cooperation with Tebis users, is consistently aligned with logical procedures of CAD designers and CAM programmers.
Parametric/associative system base and solid kernelRobust CAD hybrid system combines free-form surfaces and solidsThe newly developed system base has been redesigned for the high frequency of modifications and adaptations in manufacturing, where different data and qualities of data come together and processing speed is determined by the robustness of the software. In data preparation for manufacturing, for ex-ample, surfaces like draft angles with volumes or open and closed solids can be combined without resulting in error messages. Tebis always calculates a result – even if there are gaps in the surface topology.
Design for ease of modificationThe new parametric design core "remembers" the creation history of the individual surface and solid elements. Each state of the element is stored and can be modified at any time via its parameters – such as length, radius and di-rection. Because the individual elements are interdependent, the entire design adapts to any changes fully automatically – at a click of the mouse.
Standardized and time-saving design with CAD templatesThe template technology integrated in the CAM environment now also helps to save time in the performance of recurring activities in CAD. This yields tremendous savings, especially in designing variants. The user imports a para-metric template, such as a test gauge, into the data set, copies it several times, changes the height and angles of the individual fixtures with the parameter values, aligns and positions them to fit the part. Even users with little experi-ence can accomplish all this with just a few mouse clicks.

With its fully parametric CAD/CAM core, Tebis 4.1 can be configured for nearly all 3D design and manufacturing tasks. This results in workstations with modular equipment that is precisely adapted to your CAD/CAM/NC manufac-turing processes.
The foundation for all our technologies is Tebis Base – our central platform for all automated CAD and CAM processes – from the sketch to solid and surface design, to simultaneous 5-axis milling and measurement directly on the ma-chine tool. Tebis supports machining, laser and EDM technologies.

The new Tebis Job Manager immediately establishes an overview of all the individual steps required to manufacture the part. All details for setups and the tools and clamping devices used are immediately visible – including all NC parameters. Working intuitively in the Job Manager and with the process libraries ensures that new employees can learn quickly.
The Job Manager has become more compact thanks to its incorporation in the structure tree.
Setup in the virtual machine has also been simplified. With just a few clicks, the NC programmer can now visualize the blank and the finished part in the machine, select suitable tools and optimize spatial orientations.

Tebis is ideally suited for complete machining centers that can turn, mill and drill. This saves you machine changes and reclamping and reduces logistics expenditures on the path to the finished workpiece. At the same time, you benefit from the greater accuracy of mill-turning, because the workpiece is turned, drilled and milled in the same setup. On machines with a primary and secondary spindle, you can automatically transfer parts and complete them on all sides without manual reclamping.
Tebis drilling functions enable you to manually or automatically program all types of bores, from center bores to branched deep bores.
Tebis workstations show their special strength in production machining by combining turning, milling and drilling in a single user interface. This enables you to quickly and safely manufacture both simple and complex parts.

This is how CNC automation with Tebis works: Your NC programmers use process libraries, containing your machines, controls, tools and clamping devices as individual digital objects. Your Tebis software thus knows your specific manufacturing environment in detail.
Still more: NC templates also contain your optimized manufacturing knowledge and enable standardized work and automatic functions for your NC programming.
The NC programmer uses NC templates containing proven manufacturing sequences as well as suitable tools, machines and clamping devices from the process libraries stored in virtual form. This enables Tebis NC programs to optimally adapt to the manufacturing environment and to detect and avoid collisions during programming.

Tebis users work with process libraries that digitally represent their real manufacturing environment. The libraries contain geometric, kinematic and technical information on machines, their supplemental equipment, controls, tools and clamping devices. In the digitized manufacturing environment, NC programmers can unambiguously define setups on the selected machines and tools, simulate toolpaths and avoid collisions during calculation. This ensures safe NC code for your manufacturing.

For mapping your existing and specialized tools in your Tebis programming environment The tool library contains images of your real tools with their exact geometric dimensions and proven and optimized cutting data for various materials. Groups of tools in machine magazines and tool cabinets can also be represented.■ Tebis manages each complete tool in its individual components such as holder, extension and cutting edge. ■ NC programmers use existing tools or assemble new tools as necessary.
Units and clamping devices

For documenting your NC programs for your shop The templates are in XML or PDF format and can be printed on paper or viewed on screen. Tebis implementation engineers use the available catalog templates to program your individual templates to your exact specifications.
Virtual machines
For representing your machines in your Tebis NC programming environment Factors including machine geometry, supplemental equipment, kinematics, limit switches and dynamic parameters for axes and drives are stored in virtual representations of your machining centers and robots. ■ Your production planners use the virtual machines to check for feasibility and to
precisely determine machining time.■ Your NC programmers use the virtual machines to define suitable setup positions and
