according to johannes kepler’s theory, each planet hums a bending note as it orbits the sun.
the tone can be determined by speed, which is dependent on a planets changing distance from the sun.
distance = sound
when plucked from the solar system and scaled to human size, kepler’s orbiting bodies can be seen in everyday life. feeding from the dynamic rhythm of public spaces, my project would bring kepler’s theory to earth.

sound box
a digital component detects nearby objects and produces a corresponding note.
1_ arduino uno holds the code that runs the program.
2_ ping sonar sensor detects bodies within a 5 foot range.piezo speaker emits changing pitch. (schematic, above, shows the circuit in detail)
3_ a leather pouch provides light protection for the assembled sound pack.

yarnbombsong
a vocal yarn bomb that sings to the rhythm of life around it.
this static sound installation reacts to surrounding motion and interaction.
its song rises when approached, and lowers when left.
