• Apply Early – Eligibility to receive more aid.
• Fill out the 14/15 FAFSA Application.

• Be careful of sketchy websites. It is FREE to fill out a FAFSA.
• Determine dependency status:
o Dependent – Needs your and parents information.
o Independent – Need only your information.
Differences in types of Aid• Grants
o Free monies from Federal or State Level. Does not need to be repaid……………..unless you fail
• Work Study
o Money allocated from the Dept. Of Education for students to pursue on/off campus job options.
• Loans
o Money must be repaid, potentially with interest.
• Scholarships
o Money awarded to students for applying. Does not generally have to be paid back.
