Team Zebra has taken the approach of rotating roles from the outset of our team building exercises, including our

Marketing Practice Case Analysis and the development of out Team Charter.

TEAM ZEBRA’S APPROACH TO MISSING ROLES AND ROLES THAT ARE OVER-REPRESENTED

NOT ENOUGH OF THESE ROLES: (solution to problem)

CREATORS:

Have INVESTIGATORS step into these roles during team discussions.

Brainstorm and Outline as a Team.

EVALUATORS:

Have SHAPERS step into these roles during team discussions

Encourage all Team members to speak up during Team discussions

TOO MANY OF THESE ROLES: (solution to problem)

SUPPORTERS:

Help keep Team on task by using schedules and deadlines.

Assign Team roles to save time.

FINISHERS:

Team will not rush work to meet deadlines by keeping a schedule.

Team will discuss all topics so everyone has clarity of topic and discussion.

Team Zebra will take the approach of having Team members supervise their original agreed upon roles to ensure the

Team is meeting all stated Team expectations.

PROCESSES (GROUND RULES)

Team Zebra members will communicate all meeting times and Team assignments through E-mail, so that all

Team members have access to information and body of work.

Team Zebra members are expected to attend, be punctual, and be active in all Team meetings.

PROGRESSIVE DISCIPLINE PROCESS

First offence

Verbal warning will be given to the Team member

Second offence

Written warning will be given to the Team member. A copy will also be given to the instructor.

Third offence

Written warning will be give to the Team member again, as well marks will be deducted from peer evaluation.

A copy will be given to the instructor and will notify Team member that this is the last warning.

Fourth offence

Team takes a vote to kick out member from the Team for the assignment. A written notification will be given

to Team member and instructor about the decisions of the Team.

Team Zebra will recognize and celebrate successful assignment completions through High fives, Big smiles,

and Team events.

Team Zebra will effectively distribute tasks among Team members as a Team during meetings.

Team Zebra will regularly schedule Team meetings and establish deadlines to keep the Team on task and to

avoid rushing Team discussions or assignments.

Description:

Open to seeing both sides of the problem and uses autocratic, voting/majority, consultation or

consensus/unanimity decision making method that is most beneficial to the team.
