Sponsorship Opportunities Team Rubicon Benefit Reception 20 Jan 2011, La Jolla, CA What happens when a group of trained men and women stop watching and decide to act? Who is Team Rubicon? Team Rubicon (TR) is an NGO established in the aftermath of the Haiti disaster by a group of Marines, who identified a gap in conventional aid and disaster response. With their military training, Team Rubicon has the capacity to deploy rapidly to isolated areas where no one else goes, be the first responders to react before larger aid and disaster response organizations act and provide crucial life-sustaining solutions and medical aid. Team Rubicon creates an opportunity for the 1.8 million Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan to whom it is important to continue serving after they have left the military. This opportunity to serve helps veterans cope with the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and aides in the re-entry process. See Team Rubicon website for more information. www.teamrubiconusa.org "We are volunteers not satisfied with standing on the side line. We believe our skills are needed and Team Rubicon is a model for delivering them. Give us, Veterans, the opportunity to serve! Everything we do, we do for free, without hope for reward, without counting the cost." Watch TR President Jake Wood’s impactful speech at TEDx San Diego 2010 HERE.
