COMPETITION INFORMATION
1. DATES The 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championships will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium from 3rd to 6th June, 2016.
2. VENUE 2.1 Track & Field Events
Thong Nhat Stadium will be the venue for the Championships. The Stadium has 10 straight lanes and 8 oval lanes with facilities for all standard Athletics Events.
2.2 Walking Events The Walking Events will be held on the tracks in the Stadium
2.3 Warm up Area The warm up will be used outside and in front of Thong Nhat stadium.

5. PARTICIPANTS 5.1Participation
Only competitors whose countries or territory are members of the AAA and complying with the Constitution and Rules of the AAA are entitled to participate in the 17th Asian Junior Athletic Championships 2016.
5.2Age Categories
Athletes aged 16, 17, 18 or 19 years on 31 December 2016 (born in 1997,1998, 1999, 2000), may compete in any event.
No athlete younger than 16 years of age on 31 December 2016 (born in 2001 or later) may be entered.
Notes: Team leaders must present Athletes passports upon arrival, or other official documents indicating the year of birth, to confirm ages in order for them to be photocopied by the organizers.
5.3Individual Events: Each National Association or Federation may enter two (2) competitors for each Individual event. However, the Host Association may enter three (3) competitors for each individual event.
5.4Team Events: 5.4.1 Each participating Association or Federation may enter one (1) team
for each relay event 5.4.2 Any four athletes from among have entered the competition, only
two (2) additional athletes may take part in subsequent rounds as substitutes. Substitutes may only be taken from the list of athletes entered for the athletic competition and running order must be officially declared before the start of each round of the competition. An athlete who has taken part in one round and has subsequently been substituted by another cannot then form part of the team again.

6. ENTRIES 6.1Preliminary Entry (by number)
The Preliminary entry Forms for all teams must be received by Vietnam Athletics Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation no later than 26th April, 2016 at 17:00 Hours

6.2Final Entry (by name)
The Final Entry Forms for all teams must be received by Vietnam Athletics Federation and Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation no later than 12nd May, 2016 at 17:00 Hours. After the Final Entry deadline, any addition or change of events between the athletes already entered in the team before the deadline will not be allowed.

6.3 Final Confirmation
Official representatives of each country must submit Final Confirmation of Entries at the Technical Meeting to be held on 2nd June, 2016 at 10:00 Hrs for the first day events, and subsequently by not later than 9:00 hours on the day prior to the 2nd,3rd and 4th day of competition.
Special care should be taken to observe the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Rule 142 par. 4, Failure to participate.
7. COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATION
The athletics competition shall be held in accordance with the current IAAF Rules. In the case of disagreements over the interpretation of the Rules, the English text shall prevail. Any unforeseen incidents not covered by the Rules shall be resolved in accordance with the AAA constitution and the Rules of the IAAF.

7.1 Call Room Reporting Times
The time limit for athletes to report to the call room before each event are as follows:

8. IMPLEMENTS AND EQUIPMENTS All implements and equipment, provided for the competitions, training and warming up shall conform to IAAF Rules. No personal implements may be used for competition except for the Pole Vault . If any athlete wants to use any other brand of IAAF approved implements other than those provided by the OC, he/she should pass the implement to the Technical Manager at least one day before the competition for checking purposes.

Implements should be submitted on 1st June from 15:00 to 17:00, at TIC in the Thong Nhat Stadium. If approved, such implements will be included in the general pool of implements and it would be available for use by any other competitor who wants to use it. Implements can be checked on 15:00 at TIC every day.
9. MEDICAL CONTROL 9.1Doping Control
Doping Control tests will be carried out in accordance with the IAAF Rules.
10. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION 10.1 Competition Manager
He shall be responsible for the organization and management of the athletics competition under the guidance of the AAA.
10.2 Technical Officials
10.2.1 . Accredited National Technical Officials shall conduct the athletics competition except for the Race Walking events.
10.2.2 The AAA from amongst the International Panel of Walking Judges shall appoint Six (6) Officials for the Race Walking Events.
10.2.3 The AAA shall appoint eight (8) Technical Officials (ITO) to provide all necessary support to the Referee of the events.
10.3 Protest and Appeals 10.3.1 In accordance with the IAAF Rule 119, a Jury of Appeal shall be
appointed by and will comprise the members of the AAA Council. 10.3.2 Protests and Appeals will be resolved according to the IAAF Rule 146.
A fee of US $ 100, will accompany each Appeal.

10.4 Outfit
10.4.1 Competitors in the athletics competition must wear the official uniform clothing approved by their national governing body. No advertising may be displayed on any article of clothing or equipment in the competition area, in accordance with IAAF Regulations.
10.4.2 Athletes must wear their athlete bibs on the front and back of their vests, except in the High Jump and Pole Vault Events, where they may wear one bib, either on the front or the back. Athlete bibs must be fixed to the vest all along the edge and must not be folded in any way. In the track events athletes must also wear bibs fixed to both sides of their shorts.
11. COMMENDATION 11.1 Awarding Ceremonies
The Awarding Ceremonies will be held, if possible, after the completion of each event. Participants receiving awards must wear their official team uniform.
11.2 Prizes
The prizes for the athletics competition will be as follow: Individual Events: First Prize : Gold Medal and Diploma for the winner in each event Second Prize : Silver Medal and Diploma for the runner up in each event Third Prize : Bronze Medal and Diploma for the athlete of the Third Place in each event Diploma for the athletes placed fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth in each event.

Team Events: First Prize : Gold Medal and Diploma for each participating member of the winning team Second Prize : Silver Medal and Diploma for each participating member of the team finishing Second Third Prize : Bronze Medal and Diploma for each participating member of the team finishing Third Diploma for the members of teams placed fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth in each event.
12. TECHNICAL MEETING
Technical Meeting will be held in a meeting room in the Thong Nhat Stadium at 10:00AM on 2nd June, 2016. A maximum of two (2) official representatives from each member federation may attend. Details concerning technical conducts will be addressed. An instruction brochure will be distributed to the team managers before the meeting. All questions must be sent to Championships Information Desk (CID) in each hotel before 15:00pm on 1st June 2016.
13. VISA INFORMATION
Visas should be applied well in advance of your travel to Ho Chi Minh City – Viet Nam (VIE). The procedure of visitor visa may take more than three weeks, so please supply your final confirmation as soon as possible. An Official Invitation Letter will be sent to your federation upon your confirmation of participation. Only few member federations and AAA officials will be eligible for applying for a landing visa to enter Viet Nam on the case-by-case basis, but most member federations will need to send the passports to the Ho Chi Minh City Representative Office in the home country or a neighborhood country to apply for a visitor visa to enter Viet Nam.

14. TRAVEL
There is one airport in Ho Chi Minh City – Viet Nam. Tan Son Nhat international Airport (HCMC). Tan Son Nhat airport is 30 minutes away from the Thong Nhat Stadium; it is the major international airport Local organizer will provide airport pick-up service.

All Member Federations are responsible for their own insurance to cover illness or injury to any member of their Delegation and/or team when travelling to and from AAA competitions and during the event itself.
15. ACCREDITATION CENTRE
All team members will be transported to the Thong Nhat stadium by bus for Check procedure, after completion of which, the team’s will be taken to the Hotel.
The team volunteer will assist the team to check in the hotel. The team leader should bring passports of all team members to Accreditation Centre at the Thong Nhat Stadium (between 06:00 to 20:00) to clear all expenses, check team uniforms, check one national anthem and two national flag, photocopy of passports, check national records, and collect Accreditation cards. The accommodation invoices will be based on the information (number of persons and arrival/departure details) provided on the Final Entry Form. Payment of extra costs can be made in cash (USD) only. Upon arrival, Team Leader to make procedure payable in cash (USD) and receive invoice at Thong Nhat Stadium. After finish, teams will go to and check in at the hotel, according to the rooming list previously provided. A member of the LOC will be at present to assist and welcome the teams. 17.
