Importance of Health and sanitation Sanitation is the hygienic means of

promoting health through prevention of human contact with the hazards of wastes. Hazards can be either physical, microbiological, biological or chemical agents of disease. Wastes that can cause health problems are human and animal feces, solid wastes, domestic wastewater (sewage, sullage, greywater), industrial wastes, and agricultural wastes. Hygienic means of prevention can be by using engineering solutions (e.g. sewerage and wastewater treatment), simple technologies (e.g. latrines, septic tanks), or even by personal hygiene practices (e.g. simple handwashing with soap). Sanitation as defined by the WHO (World Health Organisation); Sanitation generally refers to the provision of facilities and services for the safe disposal of human urine and faeces.

HEALTH BENEFITSHEALTH BENEFITS

Have you ever felt less than clean after going to the bathroom- like that scratchy toilet paper just didn't cut it? Well that uncomfortable feeling can actually lead to more serious health problems. Using a Bidet Toilet Seat is an easy and practical way to eliminate the discomfort and improve your health that Europeans have known about for years but most Americans have yet to discover. Installing a Bidet Toilet Seat in your home can dramatically improve your health and leave you feeling fresh and clean all the time.

“Health Risks”A comparison of the human health risk to consumers using one of two types of toilet rimblock products, either a p-dichlorobenzene-based rimblock or two newer fragrance/surfactant-based alternatives, was conducted. Rimblock products are designed for global use by consumers worldwide and function by releasing volatile compounds into indoor air with subsequent exposure presumed to be mainly by inhalation of indoor air. Using the THERdbASE exposure model and experimentally determined emission data, indoor air concentrations and daily intake values were determined for both types of rimblock products. Modeled exposure concentrations from a representative p-dichlorobenzene rimblock product are an order of magnitude higher than those from the alternative rimblock products due to its nearly pure composition and high sublimation rate. Lifetime exposure to p-dichlorobenzene or the subset of fragrance components with available RfD values is not expected to lead to non-cancer-based adverse health effects based on the exposure concentrations estimated using the THERdbASE model. A similar comparison of cancer-based effects was not possible as insufficient data were available for the fragrance components.

Deep well The deep well system is also a versatile

predrainage dewatering system which can pump high and low volumes of groundwater. This method is best suited to homogeneous aquifers that extend well below the bottom of the excavation. Deep well systems consist of one or more individual wells, each of which has its own submersible pump at the bottom of the well. Deep well systems are suitable for water-table or confined aquifers and will lower the water table 100 feet or more in a single lift without staging.

Pipe line or MCWD Mactan Rock Desalination Project (MCWD In 1998-99, Mactan Rock Industries, Inc., proposed two

small projects to provide residents of Metro Cebu with additional 20,000 to 30,000 cubic meters of potable water a day through a BOT scheme.  Mactan Rock claimed that the cost of the projects was "not so high" that financing would not be a problem, and that it would use an environment-friendly technology already widely used in Malaysia and other countries.  The proposed Mactan Rock project would establish ponds to store water for processing. One project would tap excess surface water from the Kotkot River in northern Cebu while the other would use excess surface water from the Mananga River in southern Cebu. Each project was expected to produce 10,000 to 15,000 cu.m. of potable water a day, to be sold in bulk to MCWD at P17 per cu.m.  In November 1997, the Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) bidded out a BOT desalination project to supply the Mactan Export Processing Zone.

RAIN WATER Rainwater harvesting is the

accumulating and storing, of rainwater.[1] It has been used to provide drinking water, water for livestock, water for irrigation or to refill aquifers in a process called groundwater recharge. Rainwater collected from the roofs of houses, tents and local institutions, or from specially prepared areas of ground, can make an important contribution to drinking water. In some cases, rainwater may be the only available, or economical, water source.

NO WATER No water is a common problem of

the poor and they use the bay walk as a toilet for those who don’t have a toilet in their house.

RECOMMENDATION We suggested that all of the

teenagers that are in SK will conduct a coastal clean-up, teach how to use a toilet, teach them how to store water and make a project about communal toilets.

And that’s all thank you
