TEAM CANADA ROLLER DERBYRoller derby is growing as quickly in Canada as it is across the world. The number of leagues in Canada has nearly doubled since the last World Cup. The 20 players and three coaches of Team Canada 2014 will be drawn from many of the more than 80 roller derby leagues across Canada.



According to the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association 2012 Demographic Survey, roller derby audiences are primarily female. The sport attracts a broad audiance that is mostly well-educated and under 35 years of age.

In 2011, at the the first Blood and Thunder World Cup of Roller Derby, Team Canada won 5 out of 6 bouts to place second the the world, bringing home a silver medal.
